the only time i was pulled over drunk, i had just finished playing a show...i was driving home (on the wrong side of the road) after guzzling ungodly ammounts of booze....i was trying to make it through another state, and had a beer between my legs.........HOLY **** BLUE LIGHTS!!! my raggid SUV was trashed full of music equipment and random junk piled up to the brim....i stuffed this half full beer between the back seat, nearly breaking a stolen bottle of jose quervo that i janked from behind an unmanned bar. most of the beer ended up spilling all over the place.

this black cop approaches my window yelling "just what in the hell are you doing?"..."Ughh I'm drinving home sir." "Yeah, well your driving down the wrong side of the road!" "Ohh ****!!! I didnt even realize, sorry about that!" " Where are you coming from, and how much have you drank tonight, because I could smell it while walking up?" "Ohh i just played a show back at twostick, heading back home, i havent drank anything tonight, but stuff got kind of out of hand at the club....a lot of beer got spilled on me." "Go on and get the hell out of here!" "umm ok you want me to just pull across the median here?"

Pretty much everyone I know save for one that got a DUI, got it the morning after a night of drinking.

And yes, drinking and driving is really really bad.

My buddy is a cop and he put the fear of God in me. I always thought that if in CA you blew a 0.07 you get to fist pump + high five the officer and be set on your way. No No No. It is always the officer's discretion if you blow ANYTHING to give you a DUI or wet and wreckless. My buddy said Highway Patrol will generally drag you in for 0.04+ and a cool local cop will let you off at 0.06 or lower (if you are respectful). It obviously depends a lot on the cop, but I limited my drinking to 2 drinks + 1 hour of sobriety if I go out. I used to think I was cool if I drank 4 in 2-3 hours.
