I think the guy with the sheety English a few post up is having problems understanding why someone who is playing poker for a living would be living in the kind of place I'm in.

That's really a whole different thread, but now that this one has kind of run it's course, I might as well answer here.

Basically, I took one too many philosophy classes in college. It kinda f-ed with my head and now I honestly believe that I'm happier owning as few material possessions as possible.

I'm not a religious nut and I'm not judging the majority of people who see the world differently than I do--I realize that I'm the one making the odd choices. I just never found anything at all interesting or exciting about growing up in a preppy private school and spending my weekends playing golf, doing keg stands, and chasing around skinny little blonds. So I don't do it anymore.

I play poker because I enjoy the competition. 90% of what I make sits in a mutual fund as a safety net as I wander around from place to place, very content with the idea that I'm never going to have to work a 9 to 5 job.

Think Into The Wild if the kid didn't have that nature fetish.
Think Jules state of mind at the end of Pulp Fiction.
And for the younger ones out there, think Bruce Wayne wandering around China in Batman Begins.
