Glad you came up with a decision you're comfortable with, KF. Being able to balance salary and working/commute time to maximize your happiness in both areas of life can be tricky; hopefully you find something close and lucrative. With the bank your wife is making, I'm sure you'll do fine (unless cost of living is truly hideous in your area).

Maybe your boss took the job that they offered to you. You can always ask more raise and give them reasons why you think that you deserve it. If you are with good terms your old boss, ask how much was his salary.

Don't regret not taking the original job, but I do regret staying. Have 2 job offers on the table, and 1 interview at a place I really want to go to. If anyone gives a ****, will post update when I know more.

Still there for now. I am too valuable to be fired ATM. Haven't had time to interview in person yet but plan on hitting some places up next week.

I may just start my own company. Dunno yet. I have less and less patience for fools lately, especially fools I am supposed to report to.

I told my boss today that I will no longer be reporting to him. He asked me why. I told him that he has no clue what I do or how I do it, and that he is wasting my time and the company's with unnecessary meetings where I have to explain/justify concepts he does not understand.

It is amazing what you can do and get away with when you simply do not give a ****.

Oh, and my annual evaluation is due next week.
