I live in a pretty nice apartment complex in Florida with my roommate. Nothing super upscale but a decent place. About 3-4 months ago our air conditioning froze over and my shower wasn't draining fast due to hair clogging it. We set up for the maintenance people to come over and within the day or so they did. I wasn't home at the time, but my roommate said the guy was generally an ass and was very rude. Regardless, he unclogged my shower (Not a job I would envy given that when it stops draining fast it get nasty in the tub) and fixed our AC.

Fast forward to last week. The same two issues are happening. The AC is broken and my shower is once again draining slow. Obv this is due to my roommate and I being degens and forgetting to schedule maintenance to replace the air filter and not getting a filter to stop my hair from clogging the drain. (I'm really not very hairy either). So we schedule another maintenance visit but this time they say it will be a few days.

So for the past few days my roommate and I have avoided the humidly hot apartment as much as possible and spent our time in it sleeping and not much else. Due to this the chores got somewhat neglected. The house was not in too bad of condition, just a few stacked pizza boxes, some unfurled video game wires, and a sink full of dishes. And some clothes scattered about.

Well this afternoon I get a call from my mother saying I'm going to get a house inspection. I was very confused as my mother's number should not have been called. She tells me that maintenance came, but then reported that my apartment is dirty and needs to be inspected. I call my roommate and he says he just woke up. I call the apartment complex's office and I'm told the same thing by one of the managers. I asked what was the causation for the inspection but she said multiple times that it was just a box that maintenance checks and that I have to schedule one.

So apparently maintenance came into the house while my roommate was sleeping, without once waking him up or giving him notice, fixed the issues, but also deemed our place a dirty hellhole. Seeing as our apartment was simply not that messy I'm led to believe this is a revenge shot by the jerkass maintenance guy since we had him come back for the same two issues. One of which had the guy digging my pubes out of a pipe in a tub filled with my body waste. What do you think 4Life?

Claim something was stolen. I don't think maintenance is allowed to just go in there if nobody is home. And wtf @ your roommate not waking up when the landlord comes. And sleeping all the time when you are at work. Heh.
