I had to stand next to a wall to talk on the phone, as said phone was connected to said wall via a short, twisty cord
No video games (no not even arcade games - we did have pinball machines, tho)

And yet by this time men had been to the moon and back 6 or 7 times....

Porn was pretty hard to get, but Penthouse was pretty dirty back then. It went through a phase. People tended to see porn movies in theaters, not buy tapes much IMO. After a while tapes got big, but they were often like 40 bucks or more, which was a lot of money back then. Regular movies were expensive too, but porn was very often at a steep premium.

Some people even had porn on Super 8 film. There was almost no place in the U.S. you could send it to get developed if you were an ordinary guy on the street type. Super 8 cameras were great. I had one, but used it for other things.

Yes, I grew up in northern NJ and my Dad took us to lots of games: Jets, Giants, Rangers, Knicks....the occasional Islanders and then later, Devils games. Never the Nets, they sucked. Also went to the US Open every year...first in Forrest Hills and then when it moved next door to Shea Stadium.
