Also, I remember reading this when it was first posted, and a couple of months later telling the dudes in This Moment in Black History that you name dropped them here, and in a good way. Buddy totally squeed.

dear albini, don't know if you still monitor this thread from time to time but in any case: how likely is it for a mix game to materialize while at porto's primavera? do you check the channels while on tour? do you even bench?

all the best

Mr. Albini, just a question for you.

Have you ever met the guys from Jesus Lizard, and do you like them? Personally I think they are overrated garbage, just from an aesthetic standpoint, mainly because I can't stand the singer.

It's weird seeing myself in this thread 6 years ago before I knew electrical as he's one of my favorite people ever. I don't know a whole lot about him I dont think from a musical standpoint, but since I'm trying to stay awake another hour for an apartment showing I'll answer some of the last **** on his behalf.

RE knee touching while standing straight

Confirmed true. Sick wingspan, and I think he dislocates his right shoulder or something. It's pretty freakish.

RE porto primavera

This sounds like some Italian gig. He plays poker any chance he gets while on tour, and mixed games are sparse and always in demand. PM him about it if you know of a game dude. The seedier the better. Are people using afterbirth as collateral? GREAT! Bring salt.

No lifting, prob has never knowingly heard Gaga, and loves Jesus Lizard.

Seniors event hero!

The Jesus Lizard was one of the best live bands that has ever walked the earth.
And albini did engineer one of their albums.

I'd kill to see the jesus lizard, shellac, and pixies. Three bands I would murder anything and everyone to see.

Do you know Steve, oscillator?

I'm not Steve, and haven't heard those bands, but check out Delicate Steve. Amazing band. I've seen them a few times.

Steve Albini recorded their first four albums. David Yow is the stone cold nuts. Dude's insane. No one like him.

If so, nice level.
The logo is stolen from a soviet-era Russian technology company called Lomo, and the first letter in Cyrillic looks like a little steeple. We use some Lomo microphones here at the studio, they're good, and we liked the logo so we stole it. That's all.

Do not know if Jeff Magnum played. There were two tables running so it's possible.

Game open to any swinging dick with green money.

Colm from My Bloody Valentine played with us the previous year, drunk as a bishop and ran like god. Lots of musicians play, not many of them for long enough to gauge their poker IQ. The ATP game is meant to be a fun, social game, not a cut-throat wizard contest.

Mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but the answer is Mono, from Japan on the Temporary Residence label.

True. I have genuinely ape-like arms, but other than this and a slightly more rude variation of party trick I have yet to find an advantage to the trait.

Also true, I am officially old. Very enjoyable tournament, one of my favorite poker experiences ever. Like playing at the cabin with a bunch of uncles or at the VFW with cool old dudes. Everybody was lighthearted and in a good mood about everything. No Tapout shirts. No flaming Ace of Spades tats. No tanking. Basically none of the tedious alpha male bitching and carping that runs through live poker like a rash. Dudes have run businesses, built families, fought wars, watched life and death unfold for a long-ass time. They're not going to get bent out of shape over a check-raise.

Now that I'm eligible I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Also a nice lady four-bet shipped 180 BB on me with 55. Unexpected.

Also Stinking Lizaveta and Dysrhythmia, both from from Philly. Not as lyrical but still really great instrumental bands.
