I had that EXACT same thing. Aortic stenosis. Had open heart surgery when i was 7 days old. Still have the nasty scar across the side of me.

Regarding pre-existing conditions - first of all, if you can hold off like 5 years until Obama's thing goes into place, obviously you should be alright (if there are any good doctors left in the U.S. amirite?).

Some states have "high risk pools"; state-subsidized health insurance for people with pre-existings. Texas and North Carolina both do. The thing is they might make you wait 1 year until they start covering the PECs but I think after that you're good. If you can prove that you've had continuous coverage from elsewhere (you get a letter from insurance companies when you leave) then there is no waiting period.

Or, get a job at Starbucks or anywhere else that gives health insurance benefits. Easy game.
