Like butter chicken... never heard of the second dish.. yea Shantaram was a great book... they were planning to make a movie on it with Johnny depp as shantaram and Amitabh Bacchan as Kadhar bhai...

2011 unarguably was the most important year in the long and splendid history of this very colorful country of yours.

The Buddh International Circuit was finally finished.

200.000 people got to witness the glory of the Red Bull Racing Team around this amazing 5.14km circuit. First ever Formula1 race in India.

How did this very day influence your life in the long run?

Not an F1 fan.. so according to me other than putting ourselves on the F1 map, we will benefit from the tourism that comes along with it... personally it does not make a difference to me... and I dont understand whats the point of going and watching it at the circuit... you can just see cars whizzing past every 5 mins or something, unless you are at monaco and have one of those balcony rooms in your hotel with the overview of the whole circuit... otherwise much better on the Tele imo...

we call it butter chicken too.. but the actual way to say it is Murgh Makhani ( murgh means chicken and makhani means buttery) ... this is a dish from the times of the Mughal Empire, who ruled India for about 300 years... Shah Jahan was the most beloved of their rulers, and his wife's name was Mumtaz Begum.. I think thats why your restaurant has named it that...

My company offers to get shipped there for 6 months, keeping my contract in Euros
1> Is Vizag a nice town ?
2> As a 26 y.o expat/whitey what are my chances to get laid there ? Is there any clubbing/bars scene where you can go to and meet hot singles (the arranged marriage thing would make me think that not so much).

Vizag is a coastal town in Andhra Pradesh. Not the most happening place. You are probably not getting laid there. If you want action go to the metros like Bangalore, Mumbai etc. Goa is a wild place too.

I've been to Mumbai and Pune (my only overseas trip, excluding Australia which doesn't count). Enjoyed it and would go again.

How would you compare India to other places you've been?

Do Indians in India walk into retails stores just before closing, walk around the store slowly refusing help, then just before being kicked out show intention to buy something, but at the last minute wobble their head at the salesman wanting more discount and then walkout without buying anything?

Exactly how many PAVED roads u think they got out there?
Acually, WIRED magazine mentions a few 20-mile superhighway stretches in India worthy of 500-hp Audis,
but mostly youre looking at roads meant more for jitney buses,
elephants, Range Rovers, and Tatas.

[Yes. I said Tatas. f'k'n google it, u morons.]

You should thank, your elephant god, or that eight-armed woman goddess, that prat highjacked your thread. At least he doesn't suck at providings answers, like you do.

As a well travelled cosmopolitan Indian, I concur with ninetynine99. Mr. Advani, frankly, you are a bit of a d*uche, and your views/opinions/information reflect your lack of education/awareness.

A significant percentage of India's population lives below poverty without adequate access to civic amenities and/or modern toilets.

In cities and towns this is restricted to urban slums and surrounding areas. In villages, the large fields offer immense privacy.

It's a culture specific peculiarity. It's the Indian equivalent of 'umm-hmm'. Mostly, it means they are taking-in what you're saying.
