You say its easier to sell cars with a walk in. Are you saying you rather be one of those dudes standing on the lot?

I would think one of the reasons why you do so well is because your handling internet sells. You have way more access to customers than those idiots out there. Give a fair price and you pretty much got a sell from any serious buyers. They contacted you by computer so they probably done the research.

Only problem with it I can see is there would be so much inquires so its way more work to sell one car if you averaged it all out.

I have no clue about this business but my assessment of it is where your at is easily the best spot to make money. **** standing on the lot waiting for customers etc.

Your thoughts?

Mostly correct. The one advantage to a fresh up is that in less than 10 minutes I know if I have a chance at a deal or just getting stroked. You never can tell online.

Every car is different, at least go around the block. Some cars have rattles or annoying stuff.

You should be using eBay national.

What company do you use to export your dealerships inventory to 3rd party sites?

As you mentioned mini's are usually a flat $100. How are you making so much money? Obv raping people on the used cars? My first month I made like 3.2k, but I was working bell to bell pretty much. I think I worked nearly 300 hrs my first month. Not exactly a strong hourly when I was used to construction money.

My new car sales career lasted 3 months. When I was tilted hard and told everyone to **** off and quit. It started when I sell this guy a used grand marquis all cash, and finally make a nice score like a 5 pounder (5k profit) 30% of which was mine. So they get the guy back in finance and **** up my ****. This guy was half a roach and they end up financing the car, loading up the back end. I wind up with a measly $300. I was beyond tilted. This was the score I had been waiting 3 months for.

This was back in 2006 in Vegas. I was selling Hyundai. 25 first month, 22 second, 19 third month. I also sold used for a year around 2010. Liked that much more. Have you ever had a dealership rob YOU? And what is you're secret dude? Certainly the whole young, likeable, I'm on your side, can't be the only thing you are doing.
Online marketing allows you to generate heaps and heaps of leads so you can turn multiple people's interest in one car into 5 different sales, all the while exerting much less effort than if you were on the floor.

Hey Ryan,

I'm buying a new car this week and a 2012 Nissan Altima Coupe is one of my first choices. Most reviews on them (esp 3.5) are good. What can you tell me about them and at this point, what would be a fair price for a 2.5 with leather, sunroof, satellite radio, etc?

You will really enjoy it, nice car and fun to drive!

The goal should be $3,000 off MSRP plus whatever rebates you have in your area.

Selling the actual car you are listing isnt the main goal of listing on eBay, generating leads are. You were prob doing it wrong.

Say you put up a used car for ~20k reserve, and you get bids ranging between 5k-16k, you can turn around and contact those bidders who are clearly interested in purchasing a car and pitch them vehicles that are more in their price range. Listing one car can easily generate large amounts of leads and turn into multiple sales if you have available inventory to pitch to their needs.

You're welcome.

Is there a standard amount, or formula for how much you will knock off the MSRP?

The timing of this thread is perfect! I'm thinking of buying a new 2013 Nissan Altima (2.5 or 2.5S).

1. Is now a good time to buy or should I want until year end?
2. I heard there are some issues with the gas mileage not performing in real world driving (27/38). Any truth to this?
3. Rumor that there is a potential recall on the 2013 because the car can't drive straight if it's over 60mph. Any news?

Everything is customer specific. But we want to make as much as possible obv. Try not to go below invoice minus holdback unless we have to. Hot cars or hard to get we try to hold profit.

1. Now is a good time! $1,000 rebate for financing with Nissan. Just sold a 2.5 S today for $20,495 after rebate.

2. I have put 1,500 miles on one and gas mileage has been as advertised.

3. Haven't seen any issues yet. We have sold about 40 already with all being very happy.

Have you ever been tempted to work for an exotic car dealership, such as Ferrari or Porsche? If yes, why haven't you taken that step? Would have thought being in Cali you'd have a good chance of some serious sales bonuses...
