I was let go from my job 5 month ago and decided to grind live 1/2 for awhile. It went well at first but ive gone on a brutal downswing (probably havent played great either, no excuses). But im almost broke, $1500 left. Should i keep grinding or quit and save my money or kill myself? (Not really suicidal lol

Suicide isn't the answer, at least not until you run out of money completely. I say take it to roulette and see what happens.

I underestimated downswings for sure. I never set out to play full time. I just lost my job during a round of layoffs and had nothing else to do.

Unless you're tracking your play pretty closely, I doubt it's a downswing. You're playing poorly and that is losing you money at 1/2. So play like you mean it, like it is a job, and your well being depends on it... but you'll probably just go into all the awesome bad beat stories you've been seeing lately where you got 200 buy-ins preflop on AKo vs JTs.

I promise i wont lol! Im not making excuses i could play better. Im doing my best to be objective. Ive been dealt some very bad beats in big pots in the past few weeks but ive butchered a lot of hands as well. No excuses

Hello bigdave,

Jason DeWitt won over $1,000,000 in the previous year's edition of the WSOP in the $1,500 "Millionaire Maker" tournament. This comes out to be just over $666 profit for every $1 invested. I would recommend taking your last $1,500 and entering this year's tournament that is coming up soon. Im not sure of your skill level in $1/$2, but cannot imagine you are getting a 666-1 return on investment.
