I'm dubious these guitar riffs weren't actually written by Yngwie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani collaborating for a few minutes while on acid. It's still pretty good, and these guys are funny enough to be the Milli Vanilli's of pop punk if they want to. Hey, didn't one of them used to date Ashlee Simpson? Maybe it was Avril Lavigne, but who can tell the difference anyway...

Basically everything on the album was solid. Aliens Exist is probably the most technically impressive. People seem to really like 'Going away to college' but I think it's the very last song on the cd I want to listen to. Having the most skilled drummer on the planet must be really nice.

When I wrote that Travis is the most skilled, I meant that he can play anything. The conversation of who the best is includes Dave Grohl, who could lose to Travis in a chair challenge. However, playing behind Kurt Cobain for years had to have been among the most stressful jobs ever, indicating that Grohl can play anywhere, which is a little different from what I originally said.

It's really easy to compose bad pop punk. Getting it right is almost a miracle...tying 3 power chords together isn't supposed to get you very far. The Middle has a 3-note(!) chorus, and misery business is practically a 2-note song. You know what, this genre not totally sucking is in fact a miracle.

This might be one of the most lopsided genres in music history. There's like an astronomically few good songs compared to endless studio-driven tracks w/some of the cringiest lyrics, attire and public image you could ever find.
