Thats also why the WCOOP lost its "prestige". You cant really call someone a "World Champion of Online Poker" if only like ~30 % or less of the worlds population are able to take part in it. Back in 2010 when the US, French, Italien, Spanish, Australian and many more big countrys were able to play on Stars it was whole different thing.
We have plenty of pro players from USA living in Mexico, Canada or Costa Rica. WCOOPs where prestigious even after the black friday. But when PokerStars decided to create other tiers, WCOOP turn into another kind of Spring Championship with a fancy name and brand.
Remember back in 2014 when we had to beat a very high level field to receive a gold bracelet for the online achievement. And the title and final tables where very respected and remembered. So your point make no sense here pal.
But if the whole world can travel to Vegas to try a shot in the WSOP but Americans can't leave the couch and their hamburgers, i can't do nothing.
French, Italians and Spanish people have their own legal issues just like American players and they keep traveling to play good tournaments. Or even doing the same thing the american pro players do: live in other country.
Pros from Portugal are going to England to keep playing in the major fields. After all regulations, the current players represents much more than just 30% of the countries.
