Why you're not participating in tournaments? Why you're not participating in tournaments?

First, sorry I didn't know in which section to put this since this is about "internet poker" so I'm putting it here...

I want to say that I do like to participate in online tournaments, but the primary reason why I don't it's because I can't imagine myself spending 8 hours sitting in front of a computer, especially on a Sunday.

The question is what can and should be done about this? I agree Sunday is the best day to play online poker since it targets the recreational (casual) market, those who maintain a job and have that free day in the weekend to play poker.

Why networks like stars and GG haven't addressed this issue? Why do we have to play for 8+ hours straight? Example, there's only one tournament in my buyin range, which is like $50+5 through Sunday at one network that lasts for 8+ hours.

Why these networks instead don't feature two or three of these tournaments, and to compensate for more tournaments than just one, they should be split between two or three even four Sundays every month. So, I can come each Sunday on the schedule and continue in that tournament. This is so much more convenient since I won't have to sit for 8+ hours, but instead I'll spend anywhere from 2-4 hours, which makes a huge difference.

The question is, why such a big industry doesn't have my brain to implement these improvements that I strongly believe will benefit all?

If this was desired, it would exist. There are multi-day tournaments, they’re just much longer each day. If you don’t like these offerings, stick with cash which is a lot more flexible or small tournaments.

Because you think that everyone that starts a tournament on a Sunday is available the next sunday and the next one after?

No. Sit your ass down for 8 hours straight, take your ADHD med and it'll go all fine.

If you don't like tournaments that take 8 hours, turbos and hyper turbos exist

The vast majority of recreational players do not want to play a 4-day 4 hours a day 50 dollar buy-in spread across a month in 7 day intervals that is why that game doesn't exist

Sounds like you are looking for the multi day tournaments. I am hoping these get more popular as well. They are a lot more flexible with all different starting times throughout the week and it breaks up the tournament into more reasonable hours.

OP has nailed one of the reasons that I think poker has declined that isn’t mentioned much. As time gets more and more precious less and less people want to spend 8-10 hours playing a poker tournament

I would happily grind 12 hour MTT sessions in 2007 when I just had an easy job, casual relationships and no kids.

Now. With kids, a couple of businesses and many more things interesting me .....far more time poor and can’t be bothered. Especially when the games are nowhere near as fun or profitable as they used to be. Quick SnG or PLO sessions ftw

edit. I realise I lapsed into my personal situation when my point was more that most people are more time poor than their were 10-15 years ago. Social media layered on top of the internet, people work more, and are generally more aware of the importance of spending time with their young kids

Virtually no $50 tournament lasts for 8 hours. And this assumes you make the final table of 9. Over 85% of the field is likely gone by 4 hours.

i would love 4-5hour tournaments then play next day. 8+ hours is too much for me too which is why i don't play much online. people who say play cash, i want to win a big prize and not grind nl100 plus i can't beat cash but i can get lucky in tournament ala luckbox

there is a market for this type of tournaments but poker sites are slow to adopt it.
