What's the correct ruling?

Live MTT at a casino. Folded to me on the button. I'm in seat 10. I pull my cards to the rail (AA). 3000/1500/500. Folded to me on the button. I announce raise and push 8k. About 3 seconds later the dealer wakes up from her day dream, reaches in front of me and pulls the cards into the muck. What is the correct ruling?

Correct Ruling: You open folded AA

You're hand is dead you lose the 8k. If in another example you were 3 betting a open and this happened i would say you lose the amount of the original open but get back the raise amount. Oh and protect your cards.
