So I was in the $2.20 [deep payouts tournament on PokerStars] I have currently $4,466 and the blinds are at $75 - $150 $20 ante.

Im in MP1 and action is folded to me, I open with Ad 3d to 3x ($450).
Action is folded to the SB who is sat with $8,403. He seems to have average hand ranges not loose but not tight and he is aggressive.

SB reraises my open to $1,680, BB folds and I fold.

My problem is I don't know if folding is too tight here? I was thinking that I may be crushed and for the 1/3 of my stack it is a loose call.

Should I be calling here more in these spots so that I am not just bleeding chips every time a player reraises my open?

Fold pre, if you had more chips and blinds were a lot higher open could be fine (depending on other stack sizes). As played easy fold, you want at least some strong suited connecters that play well to call 3 bets at $2 level, KQ suited, AJ suited, maybe J10 suited, those sort of hands and of course you can call a 3 bet with 99-JJ

So are you saying that I shouldn't open in this spot?

Typically no. Unless you have reads that everyone else at the table is folding very often. A3 is a tough hand to play postflop even if you hit the A

I would begin by posting at the right forums

Then I would work on my opening sizes, 3x does not seem optimal

Then I would contemplate whether I want to open this hand (open is fine theoretically I think, but not necessarily good in practice at plebstakes)

If after all this I still somehow found myself in this spot, I would fold to the 3bet and then put effort into working on my fundamentals and thought processes

Which forum should I post to then, I am very new to this.

I am going to work on the fundamentals of poker to hopefully push myself out of the what you call (plebstakes).
