Volume or focus on fewer tables? Volume or focus on fewer tables?

Hi, i was hoping some of you guys could share some experience with me

I have been grinding STT for a while now and finally have my MTT bankroll, hoping 1k will do. The thing is for me STT's is much easier to grind and multitable and specially when u only play 180's. There i have "no problem" playing 10+ tables.

But i seem to struggle with the same amount when im playing MTT's cuz of all the different variances of tourneys there is. I play on avg. 10-12hours a day. With 4-6 tables at the same time. 4 is definitely my comfort zone, but i can go 6 at rush hours. I see people play 10-12 at the time!

So my real question is there more then one way to skin this cat or will the volume always prevail?

I'm afraid there's no dilemma - there are so few reasonably soft MTTs that I don't think I'll be able to get more than 6 Stars tables unless I play satellites or a very wide range of BIs (e.g. $0.55-5.50 all at once).

Volume and table count is relative. What's a lot of volume for you may be little for another. Ideally you want to get to a point where your autopilot game is very good and you can play ~12 tables comfortably. Basically the more experience you get and the more familiar you are with common spots the more tables you'll be able to play. If you often find yourself in spots where you don't know what to do, cut back on tables and think hard through the spots so you improve your autopilot. If you play this game long enough you'll reach a point where most decisions are automatic and you don't even really think about them.

both have their pros and cons. my advice would be to cut out all 180 turbos and play 0-11 MTTs. it takes a while of slowly increasing table count to be able to 12-16 table and still play your a game. at first your focus might be off. also might be timing out. but since you are playing turbos its probably best not to play so many tables because you will almost always run your timebank down when your in a bunch of tables. which is the main reason why i hate turbos. also because your winrate isnt as high as reg freezeouts
