Hi,

I don't know iff that's the right place here but I just go ahead and ask. I''ve been playing tournament poker for some years now, live (more success) and online (more or less success , so I'm not a total newbie ). Since I don't like it so much I've been pretty much ignoring HUD'S and programs like table Ninja. Same with marking players and making notes. I do have HM2 but I don't really know which stats are important and what differances in stats mean what today.

Is their any article/video/thread that you would recomment to learn about stuff like setting the Hud, analyze stats, analayze databank, marking people and making notes?

Or would you recomment private coaching?

thanks

Generally the basics are VPIP/PFR/3Bet/Cbet/FCB.

VPIP is important as if someone is playing too many hands (30%+ over 30+ hands) you can start raising over their limps for value comfortably.

PFR is important as if someone is raising 20% of hands+, you can comfortably 3bet them

3Bet Same as above except 4 bet

Cbet can help you implement an effective check raise strategy if you have them cbetting a ton on over 10 hands

FCB, same thing as above if you have decent data

Yeah I know like those basics. But I never know how to transfer specific stats to the range of a player, to find out where his leaks are, same with mine..

Like he is c-betting ...% when he openraises from mid position, that means he cbets that ... part of his range.

Or he raises 27% from UTG+1 and 40% from Button when fold to him so he raises that range from UTG and that range from Button...

Like there are so many specific datas that can affect the range different in every situation. Is their any way to get used to analyse those datas and learn more and more of those basics? I know that won't happen over night, but you have to start somewhere...

Same with marking player as good regulars, fun players and so on and making notes...

I wanna learn how to use those tools correctly and not simply have them (same as playing half blind)...So is their like a guide, good video or blog material or how do you learn more about it?

thanks

Its not position specific. It just give the general percentage of how often a player does a specific thing.

For example my VPiP is about 20-25%

By knowing that you can assume i play 25% of starting hands which includes all pocket pairs, some suited connectors, a few Ax hands and AJ+

How do you not take notes of player types and their tendencies? It is super important. BTW I tried using a HUD and never figured out how to truly use it. Hate that other players pay for theirs and use it on me.

So is there a way to learn how to do both (articles, videos, training site, threads) or do you just develop a system by yourself?

I always watch streamers like Jamie, Bencb or Lex and wonder how they developed their system of rating players, using HUD's and analyze weakness spots and their effects on the opponents ranges...
