Can a lovely soul please explain to my retarted brain how bounty works?

If i buyin for a 4.40$ KO tourney there is like 2$ for the prize pool and 2$ for the bounty.

But it says 1$ at the start and i only get 1$ when i KO somebody and a increase for 0.5$ where does the last 0.5$ go?

Sorry if its a stupid question

Its not KO ,its PKO-progressive bounty so all money goes to eliminators and in the end the guy in 1st place take his own bounty which results very big payout for 1st place if he managed to collect enough bounties over time .The money stays in the tourney in form of progressive bounties untill 1st place takes his own .

Posted this in the subforum but didn't get reply so posting it here since theres a question on this.

Got a quick question and just want to make sure I got this correct.

Say in a bounty builder on stars or bounty hunter on partypoker.

Or it could be a regular progressive tournament on stars that isn't a bounty builder but its the same format.

When a tournament is finished and say it looks like this

Progressive Tournament $5.50 buyin on Stars

Bounties Prize
Player 1 $452 $358
Player 2 $230 $180
Player 3 $110 $110

This would mean Player 1 who won the tournament won $452 in bounties, $358 for 1st place so total of $810. His buyin is $5.50 so total profit in this tournament is $810- $5.50 = $804.50 profit correct?

Thus every other player on this list just add the bounties and prize and subtract the buyin for the tournament?

And thus even bigger playing field tournaments when you look at when a player is done, just add the player's bounties that is shown, the payout and subtract the buyin to get the profit of each player right?

Also in general is there a percentage that 1st, 2nd and 3rd usually get in a bounty tournament? Such as 1st gets around 13-17%. 2nd gets 10-12% and 3rd gets between 5 to 8%?

I know that in regular tournaments, payout percent is different depending on site and stars is known to have flat structure where 1st, 2nd and 3rd does not get the same percentage like on say partypoker and 888.

Also when a progressive tournament has a smaller field say 250 and below... then 1st could be as high as 20 percent right of the prize pool?

Lets say a tournamnet is $ 11. Then $ 1 goes to Pokerstars. $ 5 go towards the prizepool and $ 5 are the bounty on your head. Pokerstars only shows the Bounty on the table which immidiatelly goes to your bankroll as soon as you bust someone, it doesnt show the 2nd half of a players bounty which goes on top of your own bounty as soon as you kick someone.

So if a players Bounty is shown as $ 2.50, your bankroll gets $ 2.50 and your bounty also increases by $ 2.50. The lobby also shows the bounty which went to the bankroll of each player (not the amount which is currently on their heads).

Also when you win a heads up in a bounty tournament, you will receive the prizemoney for 1st. + all the bountys you already collected + you own bounty + the bounty on your opponents head + the bounty on your opponents heads which went on your head after kicking him. So you basically get 2x your bounty and 2x his bounty + the prizemoney for 1st.

I guess whats confusing you the most is the how different PartyPoker and Pokerstars handle the display of bountys. While Pokerstars only shows the amount which goes directly to your bankroll (50% of the total bounty), PartyPoker shows the full bounty (50 % to your bankroll + 50 % on your head).

So If someone has a $ 10 bounty on his head, Pokerstars would show it as $ 5 and PartyPoker as a $ 10 bounty.

Hi there. I know partypoker shows an amount like 11 dollar bounty on players. But they only get 1/2 or 5.50. Stars would just show the 5.50 for example... well its really 5 dollars.

But i meant when a tournament is over, how do you calculate how much a player has won in a bounty tournament? Such as are those calculations i posted above correct? Lets just say that was a progressive tournament on stars so to speak. Like when you look at a regular tournament and say its a 11 dollar buyin. The top 3 players shown on the tournament lobby after its over is

1. Player 1 $825
2. Player 2 $520
3. Player 3 $360

Well if we know this is a 11 dollar tourney on stars, we know player 1 wins $814, player 2 wins $509 and player 3 wins $349 because the buyin is $11. Also assuming no rebuys to make it simple.

But with the bounty builder tournament on stars or party, when it looks like what i posted earlier, is that how you calculate the profit made by each player in the top 3?

But thats not how the Pokerstars bounty goes. If it is as you mention 5+5, they show 2.50 on your bounty yes. But when you knock someone out, you get 2.50$ on your account and 1.25$ increase on your bounty. And thats where i get confused.

I don't play them, but it looks like $2.50 is added to your account and the other $2.50 is added to your bounty but Stars is doing that crazy thing of only showing the bounty on your head which will go into the other player's account when he knocks you out and not the other half that will be added to his bounty.

I don't know why they don't just show the whole bounty, people know you only get half of it. Why make it confusing?

But the thing is.. If the bounty is 5$ and the split is 2.5 + 2.5, then i would expect after a KO u get 2.5$ to ur account and 2.5$ bounty increase. Instead u get a 1.25$ increase??

You do get the $2.5 bounty increase but Stars is hiding the other $1.25 from view. The players' bounties that you see around the table are actually double the amount, Stars only shows the amount that goes into your account.

What do you mean double the amount? When you bust a player on stars and his bounty shows $2.50, you only get $2.50 added to the bounties you collected. Example you collected a total of $5 in bounties, now its $7.50 total.

But what shows on your bounty on stars, that is what others get if they bust you. So Im confused what you mean by the other $1.250 from view?

So example when its heads up on stars bounty tournament. Let say you already collected $500 in bounties to make it simple. Let say its a 11 dollar bounty tournament. Now its heads up. What number would be shown on you about? What about the other player? So say the other player has $450 shown on him. You have $505 shown on yourself. So if you bust that player, you not only get 1st place, but you get the $450 from the other player for busting him... and you get your own full bounty which is $505? So you get an additional $450+$505 = $955 for 1st place in additional to 1st place in the bounty tournament?

I worded it wrong, it meant to say that the bounties you see for other players at your table are half the amount of their actual bounties as it only shows the amount that will go directly into your account when you knock them out, not the other half which will be added to your bounty.

If you play a $10 PKO, $5 goes into the prize pool and the other $5 is the bounty on you. On 888 it shows $5 next to every players name but on Stars it only shows $2.50, the amount that is added to your account when you knock the player out.

Gilston said that when he knocks someone out then he wins $2.50 directly into his account but his bounty doesn't increase by the other $2.50, only $1.25 and he wondered where the other $1.25 went.

The reason he doesn't see the other $1.25 is because of the same reason he only saw $2.50 on the player's name originally when he knocked him out, Stars is only showing half of his bounty to other players, the amount they win when they knock him out.

I prefer 888's way of doing it by showing the whole bounty on everyone. Stars has tried to dumb it down to the point of making it more confusing.

I don't know what Stars does at Heads Up, maybe they show the whole bounty for both players or they probably still just show half and add the other half after the tournament ends.

Doesn't party and 888 does it the same way? Previously stars did it where what it shows on the bounty, you only get 1/2 of it. I didn't like that because well you need to divide it by 2. Of course thats simple math but i rather have whatever is showing on the screen, the bounty. So is what im talking about the bounty on the screen what you are referring to? Because party and 888, what you see on the screen, you only get 1/2 the bounty of what is up there.
