Should short stack (15bb or less) push/fold hands be the same for every tourney? Or should your short stack in relation to the average stack be considered? I have always seen 15bb as a "magic" number to be considered short stack but some tourneys may start with 250bb vs 40bb. Should your short stack be compared to the average stack size to determine when you should implement push/fold charts or should how late you're into the tourney be considered when short or both?

It's absolute stack size. Don't forget to include any antes in your calculations.

depends on tournament too, if its a 200$ tournament ur edge is smaller compare to 20$. I take a higher variance approach in bigger tournaments cuz the edge is smaller but will pass on few spots on 20$ that i wouldn't in a 200$ tournament. in 20$ tournament ppl make more mistakes so no need to take a 2% edge when i can get a 5% edge if i wait but in a 200$ tournament ill take the 2% edge cuz there might not be a 5% edge down the road. my range is slightly change depending on the players at my table.
