Hello I’m debating on using my online bankroll for a live Main Event tournament which I’ve been eyeing. I built $60 into a little over $1000 winning 5 different tournaments in March. On a bit of a downswing at the moment. The main event I’m interested in playing is a live game with very deep structure for $1000 buy in. I’ve been eyeing this tournament for a while and am extremely interested in playing it. Its the APT main event in Vietnam. I live in SE Asia so I’ll be able to travel a bit as well.

Or should I continue to play the micros online and miss this unreal opportunity. Cheers!

It's very likely you won't succeed even if you're somewhat knowledgeable at your level, therefore I would advise against it. If you have a full time job I'd focus on building your bankroll online and if you want to have fun set aside some money which you can afford to lose on a smaller local tournament if you want to get some live experience.

If it's 100 players and you give yourself a ROI of 100% then in 74% of the cases you still won't get ITM. 82% at 50% ROI Is that worth it for you?

A big edge pro / serious poker players have over recreational players who utilizing and mastering bankroll management. You are supposed to not skip a beat when you are 1 outered because you have so many buy-ins locked and ready to fire that it's not a big deal. You might aswell put your whole roll on red/black if you want to one shot your roll off
