What do you mean by lately? Poker has centuries worth of shadiness, the boom just whitewashed the dirt because people want to assume that everyone is inherently good. Just because you cannot see the dirt does not mean the dirt doesn't exist, people in poker do shady stuff day in and day out and get away with it in broad daylight. Its never good to keep your head buried in the sand when your a poker player, keep your eyes open as wide as possible, there is danger around every corner my man!

Come the flip on... I'm aware of the level of shade that exists daily.

I was just pointing out that the length/level of shadiness is greater as of late.

It worked fine, I'd never been on the site but John sounds VERRRRY believable here and it is very easy for John to get the text messages since it hasn't been 7 days he can make a request to his phone provider and easily post those messages where there will be no question whatsoever.
Also, it makes perfect sense with John not being a forum member that he'd have no reason not to trust Sorel. The only thing I can't imagine is since they were alone in the room that he wanted to get him out as since it was just them too I might have killed Sorel. The fact that Sorel begged John not to post this and promised percentages in mtt's & that he sounds so true is the nail in the coffin for me....
Now , that being said, nothing is going to happen to Sorel in the real world and he will continue to crush live but I can't see him ever getting an online deal.

Oh, and this is for John or anyone else playing for large sums of money, have somebody deal for you whenever you are playing, never deal the cards yourselves!

Its clearly believable, no doubt, but Sorel begging him to not post is not necessarily an admission of guilt. He knows he has a bad reputation and even if its not true, He knows what the court of public opinion will believe. I hope its not true, but it doesnt look good for Sorel. I want to believe him but the fact that John told Shaun this, when he could have just kept it to himself and not had to pay chinese losses is telling.

I find it really hard to believe that this is made up. The story seems perfectly plausible, racener has absolutely no reason to lie, and his discussion of the situation is full of details that check out.

Some of Sorel's post just comes off as such blatant lying. This in particular was just pretty ridiculous:

That's just such classic lying to act all confused about the accusation when he obviously knows exactly what he was accused of doing.


What's the deal with the texts, though? It's weird not to have texts saved... I guess if it's from a few weeks ago he could have a new phone or have deleted texts to save memory or whatever.
