Hey guys,
I have been a member of 2+2 for years. Mike McDonald actually referred me here a long time ago with nothing but good things to say about the community. I read a lot of material on here and post some hands. I am reaching out to you guys today for some advice on the next steps or just general advice if any.

I have been playing online since 07 and really enjoy playing. I would consider myself a competitive rec. who always strives to get better (whether that be watching twitch, posting here, etc.). I have definitely been profitable online over the 10 years of playing but not to a point where I can quit my job. I have probably deposited a total of $500 over 10 years and cashed out ~5000-6000.

I am starting to lose the appeal of playing though as I only typically play MTTs under $4 and $1.50/$3.50 HU. I find that when I run deep for 6 hours and make $15 is it not as exciting as it once was. I read a lot of posts on here about moving up BI but I am not sure that is the immediate answer. I have about $275 online right now and not sure if that is an appropriate BR to move up.

To sum up, I am asking you guys for some advice to find the edge again and what tournaments you suggest or enjoy playing. Like I said I am not here to make a living but I thoroughly enjoy playing and being apart of this community!
Thanks guys and Happy Holidays.

stars micro MTTs is your best bet by far, just plan your sessions in a way where you can play 10-15 micros over a few hours, turbos later in the session, mix in a few of the smaller fields + the obvious red/blue mtts in your buyin range, and hope you run hot

maybe mix in 2-5$ 180 mans, the 3r's are great
GL!

If you have a job you probably have a liferoll bigger than $275 so if you take that into consideration your avg bi could be bigger and you could play more exciting tournaments

You could take a shot but I think you will find $22-55 mtts are a tad tougher then $4 and below. Your not going to be able to make a living unless you move up to at least $22 and $22 sit and gos. I applaud you on your bankroll management. I myself have made a bit more then you but not much. I tend to play for fun and play higher mtts now, as yeah I'm sick of playing $5 mtts for 6 hours to make $20.

My advice would be to slowly move up the stakes until you are playing at least $11 average stake. Theres a lot more on the line at $22 big mtts final tables then $4 ones and its more fun and worthwhile.

Thanks my friend! Ya I like to pride myself on BR management; prob my crazy math brain. I will try to see if I can wander up into the 5.50 7.50s over the Xmas break. Maybe even try to sat in. Enjoy your holiday!

If you want to get to more exciting stakes the best way would be with STTs. Assume an ROI of 5%, approximate Kelly BR would be 40BI. If you're good you'll move up fast. From a BR growth perspective MTTs are the worst format possible. There's no reason to be playing them when you have the option of STTs.

If I was doing this I wouldn't even touch MTTs until I had the $30 STTs on farm.

I am no MTT expert but I definitely think my game is much better in them than in STT. I watch hours of stream, read a lot and all of it is based towards MTT. I used to grind STTs but all of my volume is MTT. I have found some fun in the bounty builders. I like the dynamic of always looking at each hand to see if you have anyone covered, etc. Played the $11 BB yesterday and it was pretty epic. Just need to get a bigger BR so I can comfortably enter them and not worry about the money.

You can transfer 275 for me. I'll share 50/50 and you stop crying. Deal?
