For the first few months I literally was getting super upset daily...now I think about him once a week or so...for this entire year I have wanted to send his parents a letter to let them know what a wonderful person Paresh was, but I stop myself very time thinking that I am being too selfish and why should I bring up more sadness for them. I just don't know what's right, since I'm not a parent...I would think they would want to hear how much he was loved, but a the same time I realize they are probably trying to move on with their lives...
I still cannot delete his number from my phone, or the text messages. I also cannot unfollow him on twitter. I re-read our conversations on text and FB about once every 2 months and I cry every time.
My parents lost two children a few years ago, admittedly in slightly different circumstances but they always preferred when people said something instead of suppressing it. So I would suggest you go ahead and do it.

Letting them know of one more person who loved him can only be a good thing to do.

I at first was hating whoever bumped this thread to remind me of this tragedy....but now I'm really glad you did Katie / Brings smiles and tears to read some more about Paresh. As with others will echo that I think a letter to his parents would be within reason and I actually really hope for all of our sake and theirs that you write it and let us know if they happen to acknowledge it (though know, of course, that if they don't they probably still read it and may not be able to find the words to describe any response to you...it may well be appreciated that much).

I cannot believe I found this thread now. I was looking for him on the tables for months when I was grinding MTTs, he was one of my favorites to rail. Kid was a genius, this was a really sad discovery for me .

still thinking about this and it's still so incredibly sad. I'm pretty sure I'll be raising to induce with super small 5 bets forever though.

Can't believe it's been six years already. I'll never forget when I first learned about this awful tragedy -- I was in Cannes, I'd had a massive night out at the players party, woke up from my hotel room floor having missed my return flight and in the the worst hangover of my life. I opened my laptop to search for a new flight, and learned that Paresh was gone. That one stung, which is a bit odd given that I barely knew the guy.

I still find myself thinking about Paresh from time to time. I guess it's partially because I'd just love to hear what he'd have to say about all the new MTT strat. I bet he'd still be crushing: "BACKDOOR FLUSH DRAW AND AN OVERCARD, CR TO 7777 / BET TURN OVER POT SHOVE RIVER WTF".

I actually reread this thread, lots of OGs posting. I miss the days when MTTc was such a tight-knit community, or a community at all really. I hope you're all doing well. Please remember: there's always help out there.

RIP Paresh, 6 years later we all still miss you. I'll be making all my bets 7777 etc in your honor whenever I next play a session.

Just noticed there's a wink smiley in the subject line of my post above, I have no idea how that ended up there but it's obv not intentional. Looks pretty gross given the subject matter so thought I'd just point that out

This time of year for me for the past 6 years has been dim because I still can't believe this happened. I hadn't talked to him in a few weeks, but we had been talking about places to move to play online poker. The WSOP was over and he was antsy to do something, to get out of his house. The Winstar series was coming up and I tried to convince him to come out for it. A few weeks later he was gone.
