Question about PokerStars Bounty Builder Question about PokerStars Bounty Builder

A friend asked me to post this for him, I haven't played bounty builders (nor poker in a long while) and I don't know how these work. Basically he needs an explanation for the money he got.

This is the tournament he won: $7.50 Bounty Builder [Saturday Special] 35K GTD

This is what he won: 3249.36

in this tournament, 50% of the bounty you won went straight to your cashier and 50% to your own bounty

this is the last hand

dankofbucharest wins $504.78 for eliminating mamontovsky2 and their own bounty increases by $504.77 to $1274.79

mamontovsky2 finished the tournament in 2nd place and received $550.72.

dankofbucharest wins the tournament and receives $704.75 - congratulations!

so when he won the HU - he got the full bounty of 504.78 + his 770.01 bounty + the 770.01 in his cashier from the bounties he won + the 1st place prize of 704.75 = a total of 2749.55

The total amount he won as shown in the tournament lobby is 3249.36 - 2749.55 = 499.81 extra

That's what he doesn't get, where the extra money came from?

Thank you so much for reading, maybe you can shed some light.

This is part of his audit for that day

Spoiler:
The last 6 columns are:

FT 3 handed, he knocks one player out, gets the bounty

he wins the HU, gets the bounty

this is the column he doesn't get, where are those $1274 coming from?

the 1st prize for the tournament

withdrawal

taxes

The full bounty from beating the guy HU is 1008$. Your own bounty after beating him is the 1274.79$ which you get as well.

So its: 504.78 + 1274.79 + around 770,01$ + 704.75(1st place money)=3254,33$

I think you have deduct your starting bounty of 5.1$ which would leave you with around 3249$.

I got confused on this as well. So the difference between 1st and 2nd place is

1. The prize difference between 1st and 2nd place

2. You get the full bounty amount shown on the other player. You also get your entire bounty that is shown. So you add both of those numbers.

Then you add that to the 1st and 2nd place difference correct?

You made a mistake in your post @rainbowsinthesky. He won the "Saturdays Special" of the $ 7.50 Bounty Builder.
These tournaments dont have the normal 50:50 split. On Saturday all Bounty Builders have a 75:25 split. Which means 25 % of your buy-in go towards the prizepool and 75% are the bounty.

When you knock someone out you get awarded the bounty on their head, but there's a hidden part that goes onto your head and increases your bounty. When you knock the other guy out heads up, the hidden part can't go onto your head, so you essentially receive double the bounty shown on their head into your account. You also keep your own bounty too.

Can others confirm what is said? So when its heads up and you bust other player, you win that players bounty... times 2?

Then you add to your current bounty on yourself? And of course you add whatever 1st place is etc?

I never heard of essentially receiving double the bounty shown on the other player.

I never heard of essentially receiving double the bounty shown on the other player.
I am playing Heads UP Full PSKO tournaments everyday and also won a few. I can 100 % confirm whats being said.

When you bust the last player on the Final Table you get 50% of his bounty directly to your account (the amount which is shown on the table) and the other 50% of his bounty (which are not shown) go towards your own bounty and since you won the tournament, you will win your own bounty aswell.

So you win 2x his bounty + your own bounty.
So at the end of the tournament which you have won, you will have received 2x your own bounty + 2x the bounty of the last player + the price money in total.
You can also see that if you play any full psko tournament like the Heads up ones. If its for example an 11 $ buy-in you will only see 4,90$ as Bounty on the table, even its 9,80 $.

Hi there. Okay so in this example. Did the example you use on stars? Stars shows the full amount you get when you bust a player on the screen. On party and 888, you only get half that.

So on stars say its a $11 progressive tournament. You get $2.50 for each player you bust with the opening stack size. Now lets say its heads up.

Say 1st place is $1200 and 2nd is $700. Say the amount shown on the opposing players head is $350. The amount shown on your head is $300. So when you bust that player... you win

1. $1200 1st prize
2. His bounty of $350 x 2 = $700
3. Your own bounty of $300 x 2 = $600
4. Whatever total bounties you already collected right before heads up.

In total you win $2500 + total bounties you collected before heads up minus your $11 buyin?

But if you get 2nd place, you get

1. $700 2nd prize

No other bounties?

So basically the difference between 1st and 2nd place for this player is $500 difference.

So essentially when its heads up, you are playing for $2500 - $700 = $1800

For the opposing player, the calculation is exactly the same right? But the other player always is playing for around that $1800 or so somewhere between that number? But if one player has a ton of bounties and the other does not, say its a huge discrepancy, then you might see one player is playing for $800 and the other might be $1800? Or does it never get that far apart? I ask this because i seen progressive tournaments where 1st place showed collecting over say $600 in bounties... the 2nd place collected like $30 in bounties only or some ridiculous low amount.

Is there a good formula to use when you estimate how much 1st and 2nd usually gets you in these progressive tournaments on stars? For example when its regular tournaments, stars 1st place is around 12.5 percent. 2nd is like 6.5%.

But for bounty builders? What is the percentage like? For example a $11 bounty builder $40k guarantee. If say its 40k prize pool, is it safe to say 1st is around 13% of the prize pool is general? And 2nd place is around half? So $5200 for 1st and $2600 for 2nd? Obviously bounties play huge into it as some players might have only $25 in bounties collected or even less in these.

But what about like those $11 90 man progressive tournaments on stars? Is 1st place typically around 30% of the prize pool? What about 2nd or 3rd on average? Meaning like ppl get their fair share of bounties and its not one player dominating the entire time etc. Because for 180 man mtt, i believe 1st is around 30% or so. So are the progressive $11 90 mans very similar?

I always heard that in progressive tournaments, 1st place is on average double the prize of 2nd place. Is that true? But the only site where that wouldn't hold true is party right since 1st and 2nd are the same prize essentially? So who does it right? Stars/888 or party when it comes to payouts in bounty builders? I thought it was strange party made 1st and 2nd same exact prize.
