Update-I talked to the hospital last week and left them another message today to find out if any recent donations have been made by Nick. They verified that $4,000 was received from Nick in August. Nick has told me repeatedly that the rest (almost $2,100) would be donated at various points over the course of the last month. However, the hospital cannot verify that it has. I sent another email to Nick a couple of days ago but have not heard back.

wow i just read this whole thread and cant believe its still not over ! So did you ever find out if he sent the last 2100 yet?

I also agree that this was a promotional stunt to try to get business which if he paid the donations i dont see anything wrong with getting your name out while doing something awesome but then to stiff the hospital was just low down .If he didnt get threatened with legal matters he would not even have paid the donation imo.

I just talked to Veronica Estropia at the Children's Hospital in Oakland and the almost $2100 that Nick owes them still has not been received according to her. Sorry that it took so long but I had some other things to take care of and wanted to give Nick more time to get the money in. I have sent him at least 10 messages over the past 3 months and no response.

LOL, no trying to get the Children's Hospital the final almost $2100 that Nick owes them. I have not posted anything in regards to this (or about Nick) on any forum in almost 3 months. Yep, it is pretty sad. I tried to tell people to be careful with him and a lot of people listened but there were many people who didn't. Regardless of the outcome with this Main Event thing, as far as I can tell, he left Vegas with all of his investor's money. OK, it was an emergency. I have no problem with that but why did it take someone else to say that he had not played for him to admit it and this is a few days later? In the meantime, he makes some ambiguous posts on Twitter that indicate that he might have played and got knocked out; however, they are not clear but clearly he doesn't say on Twitter that he didn't play or will be returning his investors' money. Also, in the meantime, he put a bunch of stuff up for sale in the marketplace before he even admitted to not playing.

Further, as of Friday afternoon, I have seen no posts with anyone reporting that they got their money back yet and Day 1D was 5 days ago. At a minimum, this is not kosher and he should have immediately said that he didn't play and the money would be returned shortly. This definitely does not surprise me at all and I hope that people get their money back ASAP unlike FullTilt victims and the Children's Hospital of Oakland and maybe even the breast cancer awareness group (this is speculation but I would like to see proof of that donation).

Bottom line-Nick, please get off the drugs!!! If anyone needed Jesus or Buddha or whatever, it is Nick.

I think we were approximately $2,000 short on the money we raised for this in 2010...Well, I was finally in a position to donate this (better late than never)...I didn't donate it to the Children's Hospital Oakland because I don't agree with how this was handled (and is still is being handled)...

He was a scam artist. Hopefully he has reformed or is in prison. (Reformation for scammers is rare, they often will express regret once caught and then move on to another scam once the heat dies down)
