lol. Completely impossible. If it goes down, Ill put good money on an epic fail

After even a few weeks the urge to just walk out would be unbearable.

You cant force yourself to endure this level of social isolation. It would be like trying to drown yourself by sticking your head in a bowl of water.

if he takes this he is seriously flawed in simple logic & reason areas.

It will be the worst year of his life, he wont win that much money, and theres a real chance it ruins the rest of his life by giving him various mental issues.

i would do it for 1 month for like 10-20k but with slightly changed stipulations. eg. the 3 minute phone call will cause huge ocd problems for me and i think stuff like timing the showering is a bit weird. equally, is there any way to get this kind of thing filmed + put on minor tv or as some kind of internet show?

How come nobody is talking about how easy it will be for the guy to cheat? It's not like Jason lives in Hammond (at least I hope not)... what's stopping this guy from going outside, doing normal things? He will say he won't now, and probably means it, but after a month he's not going to be mentally stable. And it sounds like the money means a hell of a lot to him, he'll definitely cheat.

I think he can do it. I wouldn't pay him to do it bc he's fun to have around...

He'll just need to play mental games with himself and think of it as Survivor: motel 6. Think of how much self-improvement he could accomplish in a year if he brings the right books/practices yoga and meditation. He'll kick his drug/smoking/alcohol habits, too. He could also do like 1500 push ups per day. I think he can actually do it.

If he has 'habits' of any kind, then this doesn't even need to be discussed.

I can't remember the last time I spent a night in a hotel room without the fire alarm going off, let alone a year.

Pretty sad way to spend a year but most of 2+2ers prob do this anyway without the money and instead of room service there mum makes them there food. Go for it 80k is a lot of money. You'd get lonely and without any weed or alcholol this would be hard to do a year is a ridic long time.
Spread on how many pushups he'd do in this time lol?

+1 and I think OP should take some responsibility and not let his friend go through with this since he appears to be too stupid to realize how bad of an idea this is.

I love how many people come on here and just say random **** like this because its an internet forum. Just because people use the internet doesn't mean they don't have friends/ a life. I would think at least 80% of 2+2 doesn't live at home.

From Tripadvisor:

"We were completely delighted with this lovely motel. Clean, well maintained, friendly staff, good location, bug free, great value for the money. We went to attend a U. of Chicago commencement, and saved from $100 to $200 over the price of Chicago city hotels, which would have been no closer to the venue. The continental breakfast was an unexpected plus. Nice showers, fresh coffee, comfortable beds, good air conditioning. An all round great experience, with a room comparable to some luxury hotels we've stayed at. The staff could not have been nicer."

According to Anna in Ohio's 5 star rating, this should be a walk in the park...
