Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
Stars appreciates each and every player, loves all the suggestions to make the site better, but can't respond right now because they're trapped in a room behind mountains of rake.

Part I is a line
Part III is a shot
Part II (in the eyes)? That's "drinking" tequilla?

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
really good
ftp does a gr8 job of this with: knocking out pro bounties, ironman, badges, the daily doubles, ftops bonuses and theyve picked up a lot recently.
i think stars would have some success with this that will show them a net profit while helping increasing a regs winrate at the same time, and keep the fish wanting to play. what more could you ask for?

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
I think Stars might view it as over-complicated and messy to be honest.
The vast majority of casual players already struggle to get their head around the VIP system.

I highly doubt xbox achievements would be considered over complicated or messy, in fact the opposite. If I were stars I would just replace the VIP system w/ what is being discussed in this thread. If stars wants more people to sign up and play they need to move away from poker being a serious game and make it more like a video game, that is where all the money is at.

yup. as the x-gen kids get older and start to make more money, it is best if they view online poker as a video game. they will be far more likely to invest $$ into it.

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
+1 to what protential said. Stars needs to adapt to the generations that grew up w/ video games and are moving there way into the head of the workforce as the old guard slips away.
Scrap the VIP system, emulate the big video games wow, sc2 etc.
People want to feel like they are achieving something. If you are a losing player and you are not running hot it doesn't feel like you are achieving anything.
Lvl 1 poker player - play 10 sngs in a year
Lvl 100 (sne equivalent rb) - play x sngs, x hands
You could have different graphics that could be used as images as you move up levels, level status could be displayed. "Oh wow that guy is a Lvl 50." You could click on a persons name in the client and it would bring up a page similar to this http://bfbcs.com/stats_ps3/shihab_666
There are so many things that could be done to grab the younger generations and the serious grinders won't care as long as they are getting a similar amount of rb.
Stars just hire protential and I to do consulting already.

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
There is absolutely no way in hell Stars will even contemplate scrapping the VIP system.

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
I love the idea behind this thread. 'Achievements' (or whatever you want to call them) would give a lot of casual players something to shoot for and give them a sense of accomplishment even when they lose money. What's not to love about that?

Yeah because its this generation that is out working 9-5 jobs and as part of there budgeted leisure activity they put $50 a week on to an on-line poker site to play with.
All of you that are saying that the regs and young people are who pokerstars should target are so wrong its unreal. We need incentives that will attract the fish not incentives that will drag over 1000 shortstackers from FTP.

Re: Pokerstars "Achievement-Point System"
Badges are an excellent reward system, video games have really started to pick up on this since it keeps players on the treadmill longer and everyone likes to show off their fat echubby. It would definitely keep fish around longer.
