To add to what we've been talking about on the previous page about zoom tournies and why schedule reform needs to happen.

Basically there are a bunch of clusters that make no sense, I'll use ET because that's where I'm at:

Morning where you have 3 zooms within 30 minutes of each other $27 3max PKO, $11 PLO HU PKO, $11 6m PKO.

Then afternoon you have the $11 2.5k and $22 3max PKO at 3:30 and 4:45.

Evening you have the $11 HU PKO at 6:30.

Late night you have the $33 HU PKO at 11:15.

Early morning you have the $16.5 HU PKO at 4:45.

Being that these are niches, who are they even targeting, Europeans that don't play poker for a living basically only have the option of MAYBE playing the 4:45 at around 10-11 their time and eastern europeans can play the $27 PKO 3max, so is that who Stars is targeting? There is 1 or 2 tournies that working people can play in Europe or the west (9-5 like work schedules). Again, it needs to be stressed that there are people that particularly like this format for a variety of reasons, but just playing regular tournaments which are far longer and actually play less hands is not the same thing.

I think a good solution would be to balance out the schedule; move the morning sched around an hour or two, i.e 9:45 $27, 10:45 $11 6m, 11:45 $11 HU PLO, add in a few more zoom tournies throughout the day specifically the HU around noon-2pm ET (great for Euros as well), add in some 9 maxes PKO zooms like the $3.30 8:20 PM and just start with very low guarantees for the new additions.

Beyond that I don't get why hyper zooms aren't a thing, the people will get to play more hands, the tournies can be made to finish even quicker and it adds variety to the current hyper format.

I was pretty surprised to see that in today's $11 PKO 40k guarantee 1st place only gets $2146 (less than 10% of regular $21,984 prize pool)

Is this something that has recently changed? I know that the PKO's are essentially all about accumulating bounties but man that seems like a low payout for 1st place in a field of 4500+

Rake change happened and they are constantly flattening the payouts...

IMO they had to do that now (possible SM overlays), but they have to stop raking rebuys and lower rake.

Otherwise i will be convinced that decision makers at P* are just idiots.

They killed SM 3x-turbo satellites (HUGELY popular format back in the day with like 50-100SMilly seats GTD satties every hour late sunday) and now still taking that tiny rake from satellite players (with tickets awarded all the satties T$ regs are gone)...

But after brilliant EPT/PCA rebranding ideas etc. i think that it might be the case

For the SM they should have gone with 1st seat won a player can unreg for T money and 2nd seat is a must play and further seats won become tickets.

bounty builder pays 12% of the field and a big 20%

so why are the payout structures in bounty builders so horrible in big fields ?

for top 3 spots based on 4k players it's 10.5% - 7.8% - 5.9% vs 13.6% - 9.5% - 6.6% in a big

Pretty sure 1st was like 14% in those scoop events with far bigger fields so why is the daily schedule so horrible

Luke, Ive had it multiple times in the past few months that someone was shown sitout even he wasnt.

Here you can see what I mean:

https://puu.sh/AP17S/389823b790.jpg

Ive made a bunch of raises/all ins against those players and was called by someone who was shown as sitout.

At the moment I am getting this bug almost everyday.

Luke,
its so annoying to have sats to the bounty builder tournaments where people who manage to win the seat start the tournament with 80/160 blinds (5k start) when a big percentage of the pricepool is already gone. Its understandable you want people to play the target event but its a terrible experience for recs and regs at the same time when u have such a short stack to start the tournament (in my case it was the late 16,50 Deep sat to the 109BB). So why not let those close ones start 30 minutes earlier?

Running a series for tournaments upto $22 buy-in much more lucrative after raising rake for tournaments upto $22 buy-in, studies have shown.

lol @ the new payout structure starting tomorrow

today's hotter 11 as reference

1st 12.8% , 2nd 8.8% , 3rd 6.04% , 4th 4.16% , 5th 2.86% , 6th 1.97% , 7th 1.35% , 8th 0.93% , 9th 0.64% , grand total of 39,55% of the prizepool

new payouts

1st 12.66 , 2nd 6.54% , 3rd 4.61% , 4th 3.25% , 5th 2.29% , 6th 1.62% , 7th 1.14% 8th 0.8% , 9th 0.57% totalling 33,48% of the prizepool

an additional 6% of the prizepool is removed from the final tables when stars already has the flattest payouts by miles .

on top of that you get raked 12%

#2 and #3 getting slashed huge time, 1st is almost the same, making it look like there was almost no change in it. Although I understand the logic of having less money up for a FTs because stars mtt are so **** big, that you have such a sick variance in, that this step will due good for getting a less versatile result in daily mtt life. It also helps to sat into games that you're usually underrolled for, since the "get ITM" strategy is more useful now than earlier.

But of course stars does this to re-rake the money more, not to help people who fail all the time to make FTs .

The logic is 100% to take more money from the regs for themselves. Everyone who is a winning player will have their ROIs reduced as a direct result of it.

Just lol@people apologizing for giant corporations while in the process of getting fleeced by them.
