I bet a huge overlay will occur Nov 5, the 100 seats gtd PCA ultra sat. The last one a few weeks ago had a $574,000 overlay!
imo no one from Europe and ROW wants to go in overpriced resort and to pay 2k$+ for travel in order to travel 20h+ each way so he can play 1x10k mtt with regish field, and spend couple of days on beaches in overprised resort... the ones that want to go will go any way (obv if they can afford it)

imo the way they should do it to atract players from Europe&ROW (without Canada and Americas) is they should organize direct charter flights in and back for all sats winers +1 from major EU city/airport which is easy to get to and the package the sat winer will win should include flight tickets +travel expenses (like 500$-1k$ to get to that charter flight)+ accommodations(winer+1person)+spending money on room account+main buy in

I got a $530 PCA satellite ticket in a chest but I don't play tournaments so I was hoping someone here could help me figure out what to do with it - can I register for the satellite then unregister and get back $530 tournament $? Or do I have to just gamble and play the satellite? Thanks

Pretty sure that specifically this ticket is not transferable and if u reg and unreg it, u will get ur thicket back or cant make unreg. Write to support for more info and to be sure.

To go another step... Stars should have long abandoned the Atlantis and set up shop in the Dominican. Players could eat/drink for free and the package would be reduced by atleast 1-2k.

defo is super expensive . As i recon many players treat it like a holiday they wouldnt go . But still they could do sth like you said- dominicana or sth and bit cheapear( cost of food, drink and extras are massive in atlantis ) . Cant complane if sat gonna overlay a lot but as im not fun of stars for past couple years, main of pca gonna be good value tourney( as u looked for qualifers )

You've gotta be kidding me. The Dominican Republic is a dump and for broke college kids on Spring Break, not for one of the world's flagship poker tournaments!

Atlantis is great, I've been there a dozen times and had a blast every time. The stories I can tell about gambling there, insane! There is no other place in the Caribbean they should hold it at.

The problem is that they were way too ambitious with these satellites. If they had guaranteed 50 packages each instead of 100, they would have been ok.

not sure what the problem is there so . They need to feel atlantis anyway so they dont care so much if it gonna overlay or not couse of they will make still a lot from satties and 10k pca rake

Was there once and not feel like going back.
Too expensive, and even weather was not great.
I guess even for the people who go every year it would be nice to change location from time to time.

also quite funny that there are new regspeed mtts with 3k starting stacks since upping startstacks was probably the only one of stars recent mtt changes that actually close to 100% of ppl liked

Is it just me or should the 180 players SNGs change structure to normal 3K structure (and $3.50+R same rebuy/addon system as the normal rebuy tournaments, with 3K rebuys, 6K addon).

But fifty less players would have qualified ... where’s the fun in that..?

I think 1500 start stacks is fine, but they should have gone to the smoother, 10-min blind model ages ago for reg-speed so it didn't have horrible jumps and making the turbos the same model, but at 5 mins, would've given a bit more early stage play too. If they ran the big blind levels from 20/30/40/50/60/80/100... you'd be at the 100 level after 60 mins instead of 45 (which also means extra late registration for the On Demands which are not filling up fully anyway). I'd even be open to some form of variable structure (8mins/10mins/12mins for Regs and 4mins/5mins/6mins for Turbos) if it was smooth like the regular MTT structure, but you wanted to keep the early stages play from getting too long. It is not so substantially different, but over the course of the tourney itself would give about an extra 30-40 mins of play for the final few guys. And a much smoother experience. Plus, of course, the pay tables are horrible for tourneys this size. Should pay 12% maximum. Turbos obviously you can just split those numbers in half. As for the Rebuys, you'd be looking at a 5000 chip stack at 50/100 to start the Freezeout period assuming a double rebuy and add-on right before break.

And... of course bring back some leaderboard incentives. You have mostly some variation of regular playing them anyway. So what's the harm if some of the better regs are brought back in due to a leaderboard? And if you reward results, then lucky recs can still have a shot any given week. Especially if you cap the games that can count so volume itself doesn't matter as much. For example: say your top 10 finishes count towards the leaderboard, but ONLY from your FIRST 50 or 100 games that week. So if you wanna grind out 300 games a week, go for it, but your first batch will be the ones that count towards a leaderboard... so it keeps it a level playing field for someone who only wants/can play 5 or so per day. You could even pay out in T$ (or a cash prize for top 3, then sliding scale of T$ for top 50), if the reward is a decent number people will still be happy because these are people who play tourneys anyway.

I dunno... I think that would totally overhaul the SNG system for the better and I don't think you'd have too many top MTTers coming back to grind/kill them unless you made the leaderboard prizes insanely good, which they should only be a nice little perk based on the limit they're paying, not millions of dollars.

I know it won't happen... but I started typing and didn't stop, so I guess I'm posting it.

These are generally use-it-or-lose it, as far as I am aware. Four hours late reg to go.
