beyond ridiculous if this isn't a bug lol, up the rake multiple times over the years then make it literally impossible to check how much rake you are taking from tournaments? (obv regs know the rake it used to be but how do we know you didn't up the 320 into a 250 + 70 , 200 + 120?? anything? lol)

Also, if you use a build with a number less than 18896 (this Friday's .com update), i.e. if you launch PokerStars.exe without autoupdating (instead of PokerStarsUpdate.exe to which the default desktop shortcut points), and if you restore the previous build from the backup files (C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStars\backup), then the rake will be displayed at its old place until there's a forced (mandatory) update of the client.

I'm seeing no grave downside for the regs in this change in particular (as opposed to Amaya's general mindset changes, which clearly do have an effect) as they still know what the rake is or where to look it up. Recs would prefer higher raked games regardless as those games happen to be more exciting (better animated) - JP slots tend to have a higher house advantage than non-JP ones exactly because the higher entertainment value of the former offsets the detriment to a rec's mood caused by a higher lossrate. It's a matter of supply and demand.

I mean, the rake display change has lowered Amaya's integrity reputation, but integrity is just one of the considerations when it comes to choosing a poker room. Of course I'm not going to persuade you to stay at Stars if you feel that you're being defrauded too much here.

I'm not trying to get hired - I'm rationalising in public so that I and hopefully others tilt less about the situation that we have little control over. And I don't want people to accuse me of discouraging them hypocritically from staying at Stars while still playing there myself (the latter is not going to change no matter what 2p2ers say, sorry, not sorry), so I want to explain the reasons why I think there's still some short-term value there.

My best guess it's to obfuscate rake increases that are yet to come. Regs will know of course, but it might work for recs.

I think that's exactly the reason, just want to hear it from Stars

hiding the rake is a way to absolutely let people who are completely new to poker in the grey and to make their abysmal chests more "fancy".
A new rec might think he would win some cents and think -on a basic level-he would not need to pay rake at all. in fact, people have no idea how pokersites make money, or how and how much you have to pay for playing.


a rec sees a 11$ tourney, 1k for first and doesn't care if the pool is made of 10 or 11$ entries.

Im so tired of Pokerstars, but party and 888 still have too few options, so I still have to play on stars to get the volume I want! I really hope 888 and party will add more variety and more tournaments to the daily schedule so that we can show Pokerstars that we dont accept these **** changes.

Yes, and I'm not enjoying it. Party should take advantage and loudly advertise their series IMO, while Stars is keeping silent. They already published the overall guarantee and the championship events, it's not like they have tons of room to make changes in response to WCOOP schedule anyway.

Rake needs to be shown again. I refuse to reg anything that is hidden rake like the 320 sko saturday. Bring the rake labels back please. For true customers. I rake alot a year on ur site ffs

whether you rake tonnes or not rake has always been shown in the lobby as far back as i rem and should be shown in the lobby when buying in

trying to hide it out of view is down right scummy and with amayas past changes of late can only think its done with the hope to implement more scummy changes on the sly
