About 150 people were collectively robbed over 50k in the 2k 4max by stars allowing over 40 players to latereg after the tournament was paused and make $1200 and not play a hand.

On what basis does Stars keep the rake for cancelled events? The rake is a fee we pay to Stars for organising the tournament. If the tournament didn't take place, the service was not rendered, therefore the fee should be refunded, no? This would seem to be standard practice for literally any other business.

This. Stars is just facilitating straight-up theft. But they get to keep $3k those players paid in rake for their part...

It would be more fair, if you pay like you did for all players, but also continue all the tournaments. Then everyone will respect you nobody will say that you are unfair. It's PokerStars' fault, not our fault! You had a problems with the connection, not players. It's just few thousands... Is that so much for PokerStars? I don't think so. Try to do this next time. Pay like you did, but continue all MTTs! Let the people to play their game for the prizepool they have made! Someone had 40bb, 80bb, 150bb! Just imagine if you are sitting with 80bb and you are 1/12 pre final table? So unfair... So unfair...

Why not? They can pay for all players who has left (gone to sleep/just closed the client/gone to work etc) and continue for all players are still waiting.

We get you want to flatten the payouts a bit more, this is a bit of an extreme way of doing it though

Oh I see, you meant just refund the players who are not coming back. I thought you meant pay all players as they would in a roll forward, but then continue the tournament anyway.

I suppose something like this might be possible, maybe each player gets an option whether to get paid as in a roll forward or continue playing (if don't make a selection before the tournament restarts, they get rolled forward). They could then just reduce the prize pool by the amount paid out and re-start the tourney.

Edit: Would probably have to take the rolled forward stacks out of play & re-balance, but I don't see why this wouldn't work in theory.

It's hard cos there might have 1/5 of those who legit regged not realising it was paused.

I max late reg most SCOOP events and reg'd during the pause because the late reg clock was still running down and I didn't want to get shut out. Can't speak for the others but that was my only motivation.

Basically they can attack it anytime they want, he could not prove me that but he said this is for sure the case that hackers asked for some money to reveal the exploit (that first time it happened a month ago) but Pokerstars did not honor the deal (they thought they could handle the exploit themselfs)

No payment they attacked again, as simples as that (and they will do it on Scoop Main Event day if Pokerstars do not pay them the amount agreed)

The Scheinbergs used to manage this a lot better than Amaya does, they used to pay hackers a lot of money so the exploits found werent used
