Old man smell. Old man smell.

Hi,

I rarely post, but am headed to Vegas in June and notice there are lots of nice Senior events. I'm 61, but have only played in regular MTT's. I have noticed some differences between older players and younger ones, but I wonder if any of you grizzled vets can tell me if there are significant differences between these Senior events and events open to all. (except more bathroom breaks)

I prefer senior events for several reasons. I feel the fields are generally softer and contain more recreational players.

Tables tend to be friendlier and more relaxed. Fewer robotic players with earbuds and hoodies.

I see more players with a lack of push/fold understanding when they get shortstacked. They will blind themselves down to where they have little fold equity and are no threat.

I also see a lack of patience in some players. After several hours they will have a blow up and spew off all their chips because it's "time to go home".

A slightly annoying aspect of seniors tournaments is a tendency of some players to not pay attention closely enough. Constantly have to be reminded when the action is on them. Don't seem to grasp the fact that at some point in the tourney you have to ante EVERY hand.

Hope you have fun/success and below are some of the seniors events I plan on playing this year.

Patstap very good of you to offer such good information to the OP. Is there a site that measures "S"?

Yes. Link below has all the major tournaments in Vegas this summer. You can sort by casino, game, cost, key word, etc:

I honestly thought this topic was going to be about complaining that the old men at the table smell different

Not to derail the thread, but I'm not sure the correct usage is "differently".

I'm not an English grammar teacher but the phrase doesn't pass the ear test for me.

"Old men smell different" to me, means the odor of old men is different than the odor of young men.

"Old men smell differently" to me, means old men use their olfactory sense in a different way than young men.

With a quick Google search I've found instances of both usages.
