With 24x 14min and the rest 16min it's between 24*14 + 25*16 = 736 and 24*14 + 33*16 = 864 minutes of playtime. Or between 12.26 and 14.4 hours, plus about 1.5-2.5 hours of breaks if they work like they do on stars where it's 5 minutes after every table has finished their hand.
I didn't finish high school maths nor did I achieve an actual skill level above it later in life. It boggles my mind that party A) didn't do these calculations/a similar estimation or B) did them and thought "this is fine". If I come across as harsh it's because it's very hard not to be cynical when it seems blatantly obvious to me after looking at this for 10 minutes that if the field goes over ~1000 people you can't do a slower structure than 12/14 mins without making it multiday or having insane lengths. And it's not even like this structure is insanely nice, if you do a 2-day event you could easily go 16*15min into 20min levels.
The one thing that's nice compared to previous versions is that we start with 100 instead of 250bb, so reaching the money/reasonable deepness will be a bit faster so it's a bit less likely you'll play until very late and cash for something insignificant. I guess I'll play because I go to sleep kinda late anyway and the value should be huge, but man, I always feel sorry for any recreational who has no idea how long this thing will take and registers, only to find themselves spewing it off at 3am because there's still 300 people left and they have to work at 9.
