Hi guys, I need some advice. I play on stars (12-18 tables), preferring tile. For now I'm using sony vaio laptop with 32" TV, but looking to buy all-in-one computer... The question is what will be better:

27" with 2560 x 1440 resolution, like this one Dell XPS One 2710-2205

or 23" FullHD like this Lenovo Ideacentre B540P + another 23" FullHD LED monitor

I would like to use it as TV also, therefore bigger screen size = better (Dell unfortunately doesn't have TV-Tuner, but I could buy an external one), but it's for poker purpose mainly...

Thx for sharing any thoughts

I'd highly highly recommend a 30inch as you can 12 table tile comfortably on it alone.

there are no 30" all-in-ones afaik dell has 27" and superb resolution, but there is no tv-tuner and it's pretty expensive for my budget...

Can someone please give me some feedback about this setup for grinding:

Intel Core i5-2450M 2,50-3,10 GHz 3 MB Level3 Cache (max 2x8)
8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz (2x4)
15,6 Zoll HD LED TFT 1366x768 Pix NonGlare Type
NVIDIA GeForce GT540M mit 2048 MB GDDR3 RAM DirectX 11
120 GB SSD Intel 520 Serie Cherryville SATA 600

How good is that hard drive or it is better to get something like a 500GB 7200x one?

Thank you very much!

screen resolution is ass.
120gb probably won't be enough if it is your only drive.

Hi

I am going to be upgrading my graphics card so i can have hdmi and dvi ports and actually get Hd resolution with my HD monitor.

Any recommendations for a good graphics card, i am not a gamer so prob dont need a super high spec but, i am not worried about spending a few $. As its prob better to overspec a little than underspec.

Also going to upgrade Hard drive to SSD, is there a easy was to tell if i can just add to my current drive and run 2?
Ideally this is what i would like to do as i can buy a smaller SSD. If not i assume its prob better to go as big as I can afford right, like 240gb+?

Also any recommends on a specific brand of drive?

Thx in advance

i have a Radeon HD 6850 in my grind pc, which has 2x dvi and a (or even 2?) hdmi + a "regular" graphics entry. its def sufficient for grinding and does reasonably well w games too + its affordable/budget.

look for sata sockets on ur mainboard (for the ssd). if ur pc is <2ys old ull def have them, then just plug ssd in one of them + plug it into the power supply unit, then format the new drive. its fairly easy

would def recommend to run ur operating system + all poker software (esp pt3/hem + db) on the ssd as u wongt get a benefit otherwise. reeinstalling/cloning might be in order

thx for the feedback, "panther point" looks like an upgraded version of the Ivy Bridge but I donno. Yea, I would like a SSD for sure but it seems for my budget I get either a good resultion or a SDD, I have no clue what is more useful?

Hey guys.

I want to buy a new monitor for grinding. I have 2 options:
- 2xdell 27"
- 1xdell 30" to go along with my 23" samsung monitor.

Can someone who uses one of these monitors give my some advice on witch I should choose? How many pokerstars tables fit in each of them if playing with tiled tables?

I play on 24 full ring tables on pokerstars and I will have the tables stacked and using a 3row HUD.

2x 27 inches all the way- the reviews on it are stellar and u cant fit any more tables on the 30 inch, also the ppi on the 27 is higher. Finally the 27 inch can be put on a flight easier.

Thank you for the responce. Can you tell me how many tables fit in the 30" monitor? the 27" one only has space for 20 tables.

Buying the 2x27" and playing on 12 medium tables on each would not give me any space left for lobby(table selection) and opening some aditional tourney tables. If I buy them it will be very hard to upgrade to the 30" monitors in the future.

If I would buy the 30" I may have more space and the option to buy another 30" monitor in a while. I really want to know how many small tables I can fir in the 30" monitor.

Hey guys, i have been having some trouble with pains in my hand during and after grinding. I am right handed and its mainly my 4th finger and pinky fingers and my palm below those fingers that have been hurting.

I currently use this mouse. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-p...mance-mouse-mx

I think the problem is i have big hands, and there isnt a very big area for my palm.

Any recommendations for a new mouse?

as regards sizing min table size is 480 x 320 pixels- resolution of 27 inch is 2560 x 1440, so the most u can fit is 5 across and 4 down, allowing for 20 in all. The 160 pixels at the bottom wont do anything for max tiling, since the tables can only be expanded in both directions and not just vertically.

Like i said, 27 inch all the way

Quick Q, if I have a 80gb SSD + 750gb 7200 on a laptop, can HM1/HM2 store the database on my 750gb and HM1/HM2 is installed on my SSD? I figured it should be easy, just wanted to confirm before I order.

the whole point of getting the benefit from the SSD is having the database on the SSD tho...

How painful is it to get my operating system, PT3 and database off my current hard-drive and onto a SSD drive? Any links/resources someone can point me to? My database is getting pretty large and I'm starting to notice PT3 getting sluggish.
