Figured a thread for this stuff would help for everyone in mttc who has questions about the best equipment to buy for grinding...there are always questions in the NC threads related to this, so this thread can keep it all in one place for us mtt'rs!

3st.

I've always wondered about TN and how it works. I really like to think you could get a better hourly by reducing to like 12-15 tables where you can remotely think about your decision. Is this the thread where I can ask people that ninja >35 tables how they think their ROI and hourly are affected/increased/decreased using TN?

Whatever you get, get a backpack.
I have the 18.4inch Toshiba gaming laptop and it's big and heavy. Only way to go with these is a backpack. I had to order it directly from Toshiba though, but it's an awesome bag.

+1 on getting a backpack.
I have a 27 and a 3 year old vaio who still gets me too 30 tables but is lagging some times for a few minutes.

thoughts on this?

Yeah, for sure this. When you've got a laptop that heavy, having it on one shoulder is just a bummer.

And I have like permanent shoulder wear and tear from carrying damn purses for years that are heavy for no reason. I actually use a small backpack for everyday purse type stuff too. It helps too because I always have my netbook with me so everything can fit in it and it's not so heavy.

If anyone is looking for BF/Cyber Monday deals, this was by far the best mid/high range laptop I could find. Never owned a Vaio, but the price of $749 is great.

Vaios are so awesome. Like I said have mine for 3 years now. Had one problem with it and the support is really great. 2 days after I wrote a mail a vaiodude knocked on my door and took my laptop. Got it back one week later, no costs and everything went smoothly after that.

Strongly considering buying this one now, with added ram and maybe ghz.

I'd have paid $5000 for it if I could play on Stars right now.

Pretty weak RAM and CPU these days. You can get an i7 and 8 GB ram in a lot of desktops for under $1k easily... I bought my desktop about 3 years ago (maybe 2) and its a weaker i7 with 8 GB RAM... Today I'd def not buy with less.

He's getting a PC for poker and 2p2. Getting a better CPU or Ram would just be a waste of money.

This, Frank sounds like my good friend who is changing laptops eveyr year and upgrading every year his desktop cause "this is not top of the line"

He watches DVDs, plays FIFA and poker obv (along with HEM)

Gimmea ***** break, all the hi end expensive configs are for gaming and hitech design or other stuff that we don't do ..

The Doggz config could use more RAM since HEM eats a lot of it and it will make things smoother as well with a better graphics card + more ram

As far as the I3, its more than enough

Just to be clear, I told him if he wanted to spend $800 on a pc he should get the above + an SSD.
