Just some background, I'm 22, I live in the US, I'm a live 2/5 reg and multi table low stakes cash on ignition, and I'm prepping to turn pro after I graduate in a year. I've decided to chase the tournament glory and start working in some MTT's into my regular schedule so I just have a few questions.
  1. How aggressive with my roll should I be? AKA whats the max I should risk of my cash game bankroll on an MTT?
  2. Are weekly MTTs at a local casinos worth it? The buy-ins don't get very big and feel I would be better off just playing 2/5 or 5/10.
  3. Whats a good MTT lineup for online play in the US? (ACR, Ignition, etc.)

Any other tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks

For the last question i don't know as i am from Europe but for the other 2.

1) A classic rule is never use more than 1% of your bankroll. Depending on how big are the tourneys you play i will adjust this number up or down.

2) As said you can mix some live and online games to get used to different spots. Live and online have huge differences but you will find yourself in interesting spots that will help you improve your live and overall tournament play by a lot.

Remember cash and tournament poker are a different game.

Other tip; With all the opportunities for entrepreneurship and education the internet provides and the current state of poker in general your plan is to turn pro poker player and “chase glory” in low stakes MTTs

Don’t do it. Stay single and Play part time.

1. For large fields mtts you should have 100-300 buy ins.
2. Only play them if you like them, because you can use the time to play a bunch of mtts online and make more profits IMO. I mix online with live because I enjoy it but I'm not sure it's more profitable that just sticking to online.
