Hello all,

I have been very frustrated grinding MTT. I play mainly 9 handed tournaments. I do not know how to approach MTT late stages. I have a very well defined range of hands for early and mid stages. But when antes are in place I have to loosen up. But I do now know which range of hands I should play preflop. When the late stages of the tournament come I normally play too tight end up blinded out or other times I play too aggressive and end up donating my money.

Which ranges of hands do you guys suggest? Any other tips?

Thanks !

Your post will prob end up getting moved to a basic thread, but here you go:

Get a training program (RYE or Upswing Petrangelo course if you can afford it, and if not I think upswing has a cheaper monthly option w/ an MTT section too). Doesn't matter which is the best in your case so don't bother checking reviews and comparing, just get one and stick with it. Re-watch videos multiple times and take notes to make sure you are understanding what's going on.

Also, I'm not sure where you play but if you only play Stars for example, the fields are massive in many tournaments and you could be dealing w/ the variance of that. You do likely have late stage leaks though, so maybe for a while play mostly small fields (1k and under or even 600 players and under) to make sure you get more deep play in and possibly get FTs/wins sooner and hopefully therefore gain some confidence sooner.

Also consider getting a 1v1 coach after whatever course you subscribe to and have them review full HHs of a few tourneys you went deep in and they can possibly locate leaks you have that aren't related to just which ranges you're using during late stages.

All of that stuff should help you quite a lot, most important thing would be focusing on all of it as much as possible and sticking with it.
