Hi everyone,

Over the last month or two, we've been having a lot of conversations in the mod forum about some forum reorganization, across the site. Those who visit the cash strat forums may have noticed that there have been quite a few changes there already.

The idea behind the forum changes is to:

1) Reduce confusion for new visitors, and existing members - we have a LOT of forums, and it's likely quite intimidating to try and find where to post things sometimes.

2) Help breathe life into some of the threads in the quieter forums. When people visit a forum that only gets a post every now and then, they're not likely to stick around or visit again. If we merge some of the quieter forums together, and/or in with busier ones, the increased traffic should encourage more participation. And when we merge related forums together, you will sometimes have people contributing to threads that they might not have before, because they were in a different forum that they weren't aware of/didn't bother with.

With those goals in mind, I think we have some moderator consensus on these changes to the Tournament forums:

Merge MS & HS MTT
MTTSNG - 18 Man to STT (I believe this may already be happening to some extent), everything else back into SS MTT, from whence it once came.

And then there is MTTc and MTTc - Live. There's been a little discussion of a merge, but there are concerns that may not work well. Another thought is to keep them as they are, and move MTTc - Live into a new "Live Poker" category we're considering for Home Poker, LCP, and its subforums. That really doesn't change much other than where it appears on the sidebar and in the forum list. But perhaps it's better where it is. Either way, a renaming of some sort is probably in order.

We welcome any and all feedback. I'd like to move forward on the first couple of changes by the weekend or next week, but if there appears to be some serious issues, it can always be delayed. If we make any MTTc changes, it would probably be a little later.

seems good to me. I def felt the same way when I first joined 2+2 fwiw. I wouldn't merge mttc & mttc-live though

i like the idea of creating a new 'live poker' board more

I think MTTc-live and MTTc should be separate forums. The problem is that people get confused when they see the word "MTTc - live" because they don't know what it means and post their live MTT questions in MTTc anyway.

I would just rename it "Live Tournaments" or something like that.

Like the idea of condensing the forums. I joined this forum and the other main poker forum at the same time. For the first few years i posted there because there wasn't about 50 sub forums just 3/4. Can be daunting with so many, no idea where to begin or where to find threads at first.

Agree to keep MTTc and MTTc - live separate. MTTc - live is my go-to place to see what tournament series are coming up and learn about them. I don't really care about MTTc regular (the fact that I even saw this thread is surprising considering it's my first time in this subforum in awhile). Putting MTTc - live and Live Casino Poker closer to together on the sidebar seems like a good idea. A lot of the rules questions from Home Poker could go in LCP but otherwise the Home Poker isn't particularly realted to LCP or MTTc - Live, but it probably doesn't hurt anyone if they're near each other on the sidebar. I wouldn't merge them into one big Live Poker forum though, unless that was just a category.

Sounds great. I just played in my first live MTT and wanted to come here to discuss some hands and strategy questions. I was completely lost on the best place to post. Seems like breaking down by stake doesn't make as much sense as live/online IMO.

Where can I find old HSMTT threads? Are they archived somewhere? I was trying to search my old HSMTT threads (need some info for a project) and can't find anything but old MSMTT ones. I'm positive I must have started close to 50 HSMTT threads back in the day and they are nowhere to be found

They're still in HSMTT.

Some of them are very findable - when I click on your name and choose threads started by you, among the 250 threads displayed, a number of them are in HSMTT.

But there is a problem - we can't search for all of your threads in that forum, since it seems that when you search by forum, closed and inactive forums are no longer available to search by.

The only solution I can see would be to move all the HSMTT threads into MHSMTT, like we did for the 2017 threads.

Go to hsmtt
Scroll down to display options
Select the following options

Sorted by: Thread starter
Sort order: Ascending
From the: Beginning

Click the Show threads button

Chuck Bass threads start on page 168 and run to page 174, so well over 125 threads

Oooh, nicely done. Not as good as it would be if a regular search worked, but it's definitely a solution to a problem that I think will be pretty rare.

Haven't ever noticed that option before - Bobo Fish indeed.
