Hi guys, I'm new to this forum but i have been playing poker casually for about 6 years now. I will be travelling to Manila to play in the Pokerstars Mega stack event.

I'll be playing mostly $150~350 USD side events and this will be my first ever live MTT. There are some questions i would like to ask about live MTTs and hope the pros here can give some advice.

1) are shades recommended? i dont know where to look after i bet?

2) half face mask? heavy breathing or mouth movements can give off tells?

3) what do i do about shaky hands when i bet? I have trembling hands when i'm nervous.

4) any other advice/tips are greatly appreciated!

For live tells I recommend Zachary Elwood's book, but I'd mostly recommend focusing on covering your own vs trying to read others. In some Stars plebfest it won't matter if you never catch a single tell.

1) I would recommend shades, but mainly just because I think they'll help you ease into it and feel more comfortable. Note that some poker rooms have poor lighting which means you won't see your cards properly with shades on.

2) Whatever makes you feel comfortable, but you seem way overconcerned about giving away tells. It's much harder to capitalize on them than you'd think and people still mostly just play their hands

3) There's a great Phil Galfond post about this somewhere. Just shake all the time! It doesn't matter that you're shaking as long as it's not polarized between only bluffs or only valuebets. I know I still shake sometimes after a 10-year career and it always seems to be triggered by nervousness, not specific hand strength. So my advice would be to just embrace it and shake like you're having an epileptic seizure and even joke about it at the table.
