I was heads up in a decent $300 tourney.

When we became heads up the dealer placed the button on the small blind--no error

However, the dealer then dealt the button the first card and had the button act first on every street. I said the big blind heads up gets the first card. I told them it was an error that small blind button only acts first preflop and they said small blinds always acts first at every street. After 30 minutes of heads up, somebody announced they looked it up on the Internet and I was correct. We played another 30 minutes and I ended up second.

I called the poker room manger the next day and demanded the difference between first and second.

Anybody ever have a similar situation? Think I have a chance?

Thanks

If you had come in first after playing the wrong way for awhile, would you have demanded your opponent get a rebate?

It's less egregious when you win.

It's a mistake for sure, but I don't think I'd demand anything after this. You either care enough when it happens, and call the floor and get it right, or you let it go.

Why did you keep playing before calling the floor/tournament director?
