Was playing a big internet tournament (for me). 1650 got paid and we were and 1655. we were in the hand for hand.

Blinds were 5, 10,000 and Under the I have 40 k (having recently lost a trip over trip). Under the gun I am dealt kings. Folding would most likely put me in the money either before the big blind or at worst as part of my big blind. The average stack was around 180,000. I folded for a few reasons. My all was not enough to knock out the big stacks (and there were 8 people behind me). Even doubling up would only get me to 1/2 average stack and finally I really want to cash, lol. Was my logic sound or was a being a wuss?

would have been called by two hands 10's and the big blind of ace, jack. Would have won and would have actually got to around 140 K. Not that results matter but never consider the possibility of multiple double ups.

I am taking that spot. Players are going to consider my range is wide and call down weaker. I play to come in first. Surviving 1 more past the bubble is smart with only 4bbs from an +EV standpoint but I want to win top 3 of any tourney I am in.

If you notice I had 40 K which is only 4 bigs. I normally play like you but it just seemed as if I was too far behind to make a big run after losing 150 K of chips with a flopped set over flopped set. I had sixes he had nines on a flop of 9,6,2 rainbow.

Never folding there.. Can't be THAT big of a tournament buy in with that many players cashing. Sunday Million?

Time down to your timebank.. Shove all but 1 chip, time down the rest if called and stick the last chip in.. You'll almost certainly make the money.

The bubble factor in this spot is insane. Given that you have very little fold equity and you can basically guarantee the cash and that doubling up doesn't really change your tournament EV that much, it's probably quite close actually. Not faulting you for the fold. Also the value of folding goes up in a huge field like this where there will be tons of weak players who are not ICM aware and who will make huge $ev mistakes around bubbles. The more players who commit ICM mistakes, the tighter you need to be.

definitely shoving here first in. if you were on the button with 3 allins in front, and you have several more hands before you post a blind, I can see it.

It's never too late or too hopeless to make a run. As you note, shoving here gives you a 14 BB stack.

Shove all but 1 chip, let the table take time, then you can get it in and make the money regardless of the hand outcome

if you fold kings there you better sit out, watch tv instead and blind out to get the min cash....

if the Tournament is (too) big for you so that you 'need' the min cash, you are playing the wrong stakes
