Big blind was ridiculously huge at 600k, which is a little less than .33 of my stack. K8 pushing allin seems too weak at UTG+1 but I did it because

a) it was 6 handed
b) If I were to wait until I was big blind there is a good chance I would be forced to go allin with possibly a much worse hand.
c) Collecting the blinds and antes is huge and possibly I could isolating BB into a tough call (K8 vs random hand is 54% equity)
d) maximise my fold equity
d) Take risks and play for the win mentality because I was already in top6.

Once I lost and saw 2 opponents self destruct in the following 2 hands, I realised I could have folded my way into the top4 and almost double my tournament pay out.

So I am leaning towards thinking it was a bad move. Or am I just over analysing this because I busted out?

Bad move. You have no fold equity there. So you're putting yourself in a showdown with mediocre equity. If you were to just wait, you'd likely move up in the payout structure just on account of others busting out.

Based on the way you describe this play, I think you probably have a ton of late game leaks. I'd recommend looking up "ICM poker" and learning more about how late game blind structure impacts your decision-making.

Basically, you should probably be shoving a lot more in spots where you do have fold equity, and folding a lot more in situations where you don't.
