How many recreational players open a stars account the day before WCOOP, deposit 10k, and then 20 table for 13 hours on Sunday starting at 8am Vancouver time? How many open to 2.25bbs? How many have a VPIP/PFR ratio between 1 and 1.6?

He's also coaching other regs who I assume are aware of what his new screen name is but just don't care.

Now this is starting to sound like something out of a Bourne movie but sadly I can assure it's not.

During the last few days me and a few selected acquintaces have been going over all the PMs, skype messages, emails, etc we've received from people. I don't have the total number of messages we've received at hand but it's not far away from 100. We've spent a LOT of time going through all of them, trying to find more proof, etc.

The sad part is that regarding several of these cases we started getting really close. We started getting reports from people who had been in the same room with these cheaters. We started getting all kinds of evidence. But as we got closer (and yes I realize this sounds like a cliche movie quote), the **** started hitting the fan in the other end of the spectrum. The people running this stuff started reacting. Some only reacted by stopping all activity on their Stars accounts. But when it gets to the point of threating with physical violence is when I'm oi. That day was today.

It's pretty -ev to be the one guy outing these people under his own name. I don't even know how I really arrived in this position. When I started posting ITT my only goal was to get Stars's attention about all this stuff happening. They had turned a blind eye to this ever since black friday. These operations had been running since summer 2011 and nothing had been done. The amount stolen from players is in the seven figures. I was sick of that and wanted change.

Since I got elected as a PS rep in the next player meeting, I decided this is a good time to act. That's when I started requesting evidence from people to forward to Pokerstars, and almost 100 people responded. Because I didn't trust myself enough to be in charge of what should be done with the information myself, I recruited some extremely trustworthy people to help. I didn't really even request people's testimonials as much to out specific people, but to show Stars that the problem they are neglecting does exist. Everyone knew someone who was VPNing or ghosting. Less than a week ago I had this innocent child's faith in the cleanliness of Stars's operation. This week, I have become depressed to the point where I think the whole site is so dirty (EDIT: I don't mean that the site itself is cheating, but as in full of cheaters) that I'm only going to bother registering the millball and the warm-up from now on. And even in those, if I make the last two tables I'm going to fully assume that I'm up against a ghosting nosebleed reg. I hope no one else reacts in the same fashion, because if we all lose faith in Stars online mtts are going to die. No one wants that, and this is why I kind of hope that most of this stuff doesn't get publicized. It's just too depressing. This is **** is happening every day, and not a single poster in this thread can imagine how large it is except for us who have seen all of the material. But the good news is that we have now caught Stars's attention. It might be two years late, but it's been done. From my discussions with them I fully believe that they now realize the magnitude of the problem and are doing their best to act accordingly.

I have forwarded all of my stuff to the newfound 2+2 cheaters outing committee. I'm sure it'll be called something else, but you get the idea. They promised to post soon under their joint, secret alias so no one will know the people behind it. They have the blessing of the mods to do this as well. I don't know if the people I've had the displeasure to get heads up with are just poker nerds threatening because they are mad, but they are people who have made multi millions with these cheating operations, and that's pretty much enough for anyone to be dangerous if they want to. I don't want to try my luck, so I'm washing my hands from this. Sadly, during my time doing this virtually none of this got solved. We received infinite stuff based on which it's clear to any HS player that this stuff is happening, but virtually nothing that would be solid enough for Stars to act on it (disclaimer: I'm not blaming Stars for this - the guys are too smart). I hope the new team does a better job.

To those who have been in touch with me, all the information has been forwarded to the new people in charge. I have removed all sources, but I have marked certain messages as "especially trustworthy source", etc, so that it'll be easier for people to review that. If you want to reveal yourself to the new committee you can feel free to PM them. They will also provide a channel for you to out anyone anonymously. Please do not contact me with any kind of evidence anymore.

I'm personally washing my hands from this. If someone wants to flame me for that then be my guest. I will still go to the Stars meetings to discuss all of the issues on a broader level. This was my whole intention to begin with. I had no grudge towards any single person, I wanted the games to get cleaner and the only way for that to happen was to make Stars realize someone is pissing on their front yard. If the team finds new evidence and presents it to Stars I'm sure Stars will in turn present it to me at the meeting. As I have a very good idea of how all the cheating is happening I'm going to be doing my best to help them tackle it in the future, but I'm only going to be doing it as a know-nothing Stars rep as if the issues were presented to me the first time. I don't want to have anything to do with any single person's specific case. I don't want to be the guy looking over his shoulder in next year's WSOP. In other words, I'm OI. To everyone who I've been interacting with, please don't contact me about any of this, please don't ask for specifics about why I decided to give up. I've made my decision and do not wish to discuss it further - there's simply zero positive EV for me to be involved in any of this. I do not wish to partake in any of these investigations anymore, period. Being the only face of this operation was a really ******ed idea from me to begin with. Tomorrow I'm going to forget about all of this and go hang out with my gf (secretly looking over my shoulder a bit), and from Sunday onwards I'm just going to be a random 2+2 user observing all this from a distance trying to restore my child's faith in the legitimacy of the games. It's not going to be easy.


edit: Lastly, what I was presented to today was not anything super dramatic and it's not like there's a sniper on the roof next to me. I'm 95% sure it's just threats no one intends to carry out, and honestly I'm backing out from this pretty much the first time there's any hint of anything negative coming my end. If someone called me a wuss for chickening out it would be half justified imo. This is just simply a decision of this being super -EV for me in every possible way so that's why I'm oi, no need to dramatize this.

Not trying to be insensitive chuck bc idk what you've been threatened with or what information has been disclosed to you, but it all seems so ridic dramatic to me.

You going on about how you're child's faith has been lost etc and that you're only going to play 2x tournies a week there is pretty dramatic. To then go on and say you hope other people don't do the same when you're the only one with all the info and that's how it's making you feel, seems a bit unfair I guess. It leaves a lot to the imagination, and while I personally won't stop playing on stars, I think by posting what you have you are making a lot of people think pretty hard about whether they should even be playing or not. But we don't have ANY information. We can really only go off your reaction.

I'm not coming at you or anything. I think you've done a pretty good job itt and taken on a responsibility I wouldn't want to myself. It just sucks that so many of us don't even know the extent of what is going on in our games but you're feeling strongly enough about it to stop playing completely.

Yeah I genuinely do hope that people don't stop playing (and I know they won't). I know that I've always had a personal thing against Stars kind of, and it's been documented pretty well and I'm not hiding that. A part of the reason why I wanted to get elected for the job was because I was so ****ing pissed off with Stars that I wanted to show them. If I'm being entirely honest probably like 20% of my motivation was just to SHOW Stars their leaks. I don't mean that by trying to hurt Stars in some fashion, but just to get personal feelgood about being right all the way in these 1,5 years of people sending reports and them not reacting. I'm definitely no saint and there are like 800 ppl posting here who care more about the cleanliness of the games than I do. I play on Stars less than virtually anyone else at my ABI too so it doesn't even touch me so much.

Maybe I was being overly dramatic there but from the bottom of my heart I can assure you that none of my post above was an exaggeration. You don't know how much I'd LOVE to out every single person here and show the world how big the problem is. But I can't do that, there's not enough evidence regarding a single one of the cases to begin with and then there are the new safety issues as well, and that's why I have passed it all to wiser people. I'm 99% sure that all of the information will come out and honestly I do now have a lot faith on Stars as well. From the correspondence I had with them I felt an attitude change and they were certainly on all of the stuff. The biggest problem was the lack of clear evidence and I wasn't able to help them with that anywhere near as much as I would have hoped to. It's not really their fault either, because like I said these guys are SMART. My attitude towards Stars has definitely become a lot more acceptive during this. I knew about this stuff happening and I always blamed Stars for being incompetitive, but now when I see how these things are done I realize that they are so smart that it's gonna take a ****ing Neo from Matrix to catch these people.

If I thought my reaction above was going to be the last matter said on the subject I would have worded it differently. But I know we are going to hear a bunch from the new people working on this and that's why I wanted to leave with a bang - to do my best everyone acknowledges how gigantic the problem is. As a community this stuff just cannot be overhyped at the moment. Every click, every post, every everything helps to make sure Stars gives this their full attention. That had nothing to do with me trying to destroy the games, I genuinely wish the opposite happens.

Wanted to address this really quickly then I'm genuinely out. That was probably the only part of my post I was probably exaggerating in. I can't edit it anymore. I really do not have a fair assessment in my head about how much this would affect my decision to play on Stars in terms of clear ROI. Do I feel like I'm being screwed by -20% ROI? 30? 15? Etc. I really don't know but I'm fairly sure it's not anywhere near bad enough so that it would be worth it to play just 2 tournaments a week. I'm sure even in the current climate you can play 400 tournaments a week on Stars and make money. I do acknowledge I sounded overly melodramatic there (sorry it's been a pretty draining week). A lot of that was because I'm pretty oi Stars on a personal level, have been for a long time, etc. A lot of that is personal grudges from trying to address these and other problems with them for ages and getting zero response before I got elected.

I honestly do believe the games on Stars are clean enough that you can reg pretty much everything and make money if you're good enough. But they could be so so so much better and there is so so so much more dirtyness going on than you could possibly imagine.

I don't know if that helped clear it at all, and also I'm prolly gonna be a slave to Stars like everyone else and reg a normal sched next week anyway. I haven't decided yet. I just really hope that they realize the magnitude of this fully (I'm like 80% sure they do) and that they act accordingly, because I honestly believe this IS so big that it could negatively affect the games, not just in terms of money stolen from prizepools by cheaters, but in terms of people losing faith. It's a long process but I really think that could happen.
