ABOUT SCORING

If you submit an example song, you get a zero you dummy. This includes variations/covers/remixes of example songs. Stuff we've heard before may be penalized, depending on how egregious the offense. Uber popular stuff will likely be penalized, don't submit **** with hundreds of millions of YT views scrub.

Scores are given on a 0-10 scale. Some benchmarks to look out for:

10 - Outstanding, listened on repeat for hours. Category defining. 10/10 would **** again.
8 | 9 - Great, added to my collection.
7 - Solid, not quite good enough to warrant multiple listens.
5 | 6 - It's okay I guess.
3 | 4 - Bad.
1 | 2 - Offensively bad
0 - horrific cat fail, example song, bopolis

Rankings are based on your placement within a category, with the top 5 getting an increasing bonus. Refer to the below chart for the exact breakdown:

Sorry, I can't think of a better way to say this, but this feels ... amateurish. The beat, the weird intro, the weird shouty stuff at the end, even the rapping / lyrics, all feels corny rather than thought-provoking.

- This is awful, and I hate it, but it's also simultaneously somehow not that bad.

- It's almost like the Canadian version of the Bo Burnham country parody song, but it's not a parody.

- Electric guitars, wtf? Why?

- I actually think the only moment I like in this song is the start of the chorus when he says "canadian guurls" (and only the first time in the chorus he says that), the rest kinda sucks.
