The best I can claim about being able to read Fnord is that I remember there were times when he made himself an obvious villager. The problem was that if he wasn't an obvious villager it didn't mean he was necessarily a wolf.
No, my post signing up for this game was my first ever post in POG, for real. I'm not lying when I say I am a total newb at this game.
It's ok, I'm just curious. I gave you a villa lean, rather lightly based on new wolf vs new villa feel. Needed to know if the new part needed to be taken back... I mean first time playing the game is one thing, first experience with everyone playing is another. People in POG with no interest in ww could have heard about people's ww games and I'm just trying to figure out if I need to reevaluate my read on you.
Have you ever played ww before outside of POG? other forum? live?
I've never played WW before anywhere. How do you even play this game live?
I became interested in this forum because I've been pretty bored and I noticed a lot of the high volume posters were playing games here, so I read a bunch over a few weeks and then finally built up the nerve to jump in a game.
but then I thought about this game and what's been posted so far and I don't see how that's possible, even for a noob
That was my thought too, but he's new so I'm letting him post more before putting pressure on him. Quite a few people posted A LOT at that time, I don't see how thoughts/reads couldn't have been had about at least one of them.
I don't mean morally uncomfortable, I mean "playing the game well" uncomfortable. Every time you highlight the fact that you're a successful wolf, you are diminishing the confidence of everyone who has read you as a villager. So, if they were correct, their correct read erodes a bit when they're reminded "oh yeah, Zaya could just be owning me." So I try to let people worry about that on their own, rather than encourage it, when I'm a villager.
When I'm a wolf I don't want to talk about it because of the above. It's really nice to be honest about it, but sort of self-defeating, imo.
Thus, in that sense, I'm always uncomfortable with that situation. Apparently it doesn't bother you at all, which is fine. Just trying to get an understanding of that approach.
although it's true that it's better if people underestimate your wolf game, it's villagery to admit that your wolf game is good so it's basically a wash
and in any case, it's a no-brainer to admit it so it shouldn't be hard or make anyone feel uncomfortable
personally, as a wolf, I relish any opportunity to say anything a wolf wouldn't want to say
