What he is doing here is much more likely to be clueless villager than wolf.

Given his history, as a wolf he ~ always cuts his losses and never posts again.

I did this in my first wolf game, defending a new player too. And did it by fake peeking him villager, as Carl is doing here (that's what I meant about Carl, vyk).

I don't think my AUTHORITY is as big an issue as you seem to think.

I think a villager is more likely to misread a post. I know I'm 10x more careful when posting as a wolf.

I guess I find his actions to be a very strange line to take as a wolf. There are so many easier ways to enter the thread.
