My thinking on this was that yes-- basically any wolf team in this game is going to know that there is a very very good chance that I'm faking.

But it doesn't matter, because as long as I can get some peeks correct (and don't get counterclaimed- which is not too big of a parlay to ask for given the circumstances here), I'm going to make things very hard on the wolves.

So even if you're %80 sure that I'm faking, I think you still have to kill me

So,

There is no reason why we (we as in anybody) shouldn't be allowed to edit posts to fix quote tags.

Quote tags sometimes get messed up. It happens to everybody when you're only quoting part of someone's post.

The only possible reason I could see for not allowing it would be the fear that somebody would edit a post and say they were only fixing a quote tag but actually changing something else. And that is assuming that they couldn't just ninja-edit because it had already been 5 minutes since they posted. But that just isn't going to happen.

I equate the people who would say that its not ok to edit quote tags as the same people who think its wrong to go through a red light at 2:00am when the nearest car is 1/4th of a mile away. Sure it may technically be wrong, but it certainly isn't morally or ethically wrong.

I think you guys just don't like seeing edited posts in a w/w game which I suppose is understandable from an aesthetics standpoint.

oh yeah- its ok to fix bad image tags too but I generally use preview to check those first

**although I would say if the link to the image that you are trying to post is just straight up broken-- you aren't allowed to use a different image (but that should be obvious)

This. You start getting into slippery slope arguments that just arent worth it.

Also, people screw up quote tags all the damn time. Its easy to correct in your next post, and most people can decipher what you meant anyway.

Except that its already possible to ninja-edit a post anyways. So we always have just had to trust that people aren't violating the rules. And I really don't think there is any sort of gray area regarding whats acceptable and whats not in regards to fixing tags

if you can fix formatting tags because you didn't preview your post then what's wrong with fixing your typos that you didn't preview? or your shroops?

Because tags and typos/shroops are two totally different things.

Editing actual content is where the line is drawn. But tags are not content.
