I fully expect a heated reaction.

I also expect him to explain that he used the numbers-guy account because he felt magic_gazz was too tainted and wanted a fresh start. Which is his prerogative. Mets' ranting aside, unouted gimmicks are allowed as of right now. To say you're new at one point (because remember, this is a fresh start), and to say you're not new when asked again, is essentially outing yourself. Once you say you're not new, you're immediately pressured to out your previous or other accounts. If you're trying to effect a fresh start, that completely defeats the purpose.
Felix always knows how to say things smarter then me.

is it really that hard to ban someone.

people in other forums get banned all the time with much less drama

he's not taking a break from his wolf/villager meta, he's taking a break from his "3 strikes and you're out" meta.

The meta of ****ing up games and then breaking out a gimmick to **** up more games without getting punished?
07-12-2012 , 12:40 AM
I didn't know there was a rule that said we had to tell the truth to Jenn at all times.

There are both kinda true/relevant

I think Crossnerd likes me a good amount, but man, if she ever became a mod i would be scared to post

No but given that POG is more than just posts it's people in a community playing games with other people in the community and this definitely isn't clear cut - the decision is the community's imo

You know this would only be true if he had the intention of ****ing up games rather than just being a dick.

I honestly don't know why people care so much about the WSOWW game. I was in that game and didn't even care that he didn't post. The game was broken already anyway.

I have PMs about why Numbers wasn't punished based on him being new, but I was punished. The guy got away with breaking a game (for like the fifth ****ing time) and walking away clean.
07-12-2012 , 12:43 AM
but seriously, why did this become an issue all of a sudden? i mean wasn't the game in question a month or two ago or something?

Probst couldn't believe the reveal

Look, the dude has had some situations in the games. Rather than just lynch mob, lets have someone go back, quote all relevant data, and then with it all in front of us we can come to a rational decision.

Believe me, as someone that's been effected negatively in three of his things (Was a wolf in the game that got called because of the skype thing - gtpitch ill pm you info on that momentarily, was a wolf in hp4 where he pew pewd a clear villa so he didnt have to play anymore, and was a wolf in the burn notice game he just up and quit) I'm not the most unbiased person here. We still owe it to people to at least get all the facts if there's legit discussion on any bannings though.

Being lenient with bull**** is why games have started to not fill up lately

yes

and hes allowed

in fact, im fine with him not being punished

read the sticky:

  • Signing up two or more accounts for one game (multi-accounting) is cheating and will get you banned
  • Gimmick accounts are generally allowed, but check with theu game mod
  • It may be considered bad etiquette by some to play on a gimmick and pretend to be a new player when you are not
Bad etiquette. That's all

I pmed wellnamed the day that sticky went up and told him if he doesnt change it that rule was gonna bite him in the ass

i wonder if i still have it
regardless, he cannot be banned for it based on the sticky

I do agree that someone should lift Cross's infraction tho.

I don't expect a normal reaction from someone who intentionally modkills themselves in specially designed games, or subs out and self bans deep in mishmashes.

It is night

Your turn.

When it constantly happens we can reach some conclusions, such as that at minimum he doesn't care how much he ****s up the game
07-12-2012 , 12:45 AM
I agree with Felix, SIU, MB, HS, Chips, Gad, vix and Jim.

I read that postgame pretty closely and I think it was far from determined whether some random would have gotten a punishment in that situation. Maybe an "infraction", that's it.

I'm presuming "innocence" on the part of magic_numbers here, in that I'm presuming that he was telling the truth - something actually came up that prevented him from making it to the thread at f5. If that had happened to me, or Crossnerd, or Eurotrash, or tappokone, do you think any of us would be up for a ban?

So a) "he used being a new player to avoid punishment" is not really proven, since we don't know if anyone else would have been punished in that place, and b) I don't really like the undertones floating around here (not necessarily from you, VMF) that he intentionally broke the game.
