This is a good solution. Right now people may be nervous or afraid to disallow them because they would be the only ones. Make it part of the standard game creation. Size, theme, setup, gimmicks, etc.

I'd be fine with this so count me as a yay.

just let convo flow on instead of trying to prohibit certain topics. if anybody gets out of hand ban them, otherwise it should be harmless.

magic specifically denied t he fact that he was a gimmick on numbers. that's almost a whole nuther level, beyond the standard gimmick controversy.

No gimmicks allowed in any future games I run (turboes excepted)

while we are talking about bans can we go ahead and knock a couple of long overdue ones out of the way? In order of importance we should ban:

1. Pony pictures, videos, drawings, names, etc.
2. People who post the above
3. Systolic (for many many actions far worse than magic_jizz's actions over a much longer period of time)
4. mets (same as above, but with more volume and more people in his corner so it may take longer for the butthurt to clear)


If we get through all of that then we can look into gimmicks. I do not support the ban of gimmicks unless it is a forum ban rather than a WW ban. Posting on a gimmick should either be allowed or disallowed, not allowed in the forum, but not certain games. If they are banned I would be fine permabanning gimmick accounts and issuing temp bans that increase in length to anyone that posts using a gimmick.

1/2 should be totally at the game mod's discretion imo. I will never ban someone from doing something awesome like a video or posting what they want within the forum rules/general game integrity rules in one of my games.

I've played a game in SE and I have hosted a game mainly for SE in POG
Both experiences were not entirely positive - which probably was partly my fault.

So there will be no further initiative from my part to relate with SE

If I were magic_gazz, I would just leave the community in which I do not feel welcome.

also it's basically completely infeasible to ban gimmick accounts from POG generally speaking. and gimmick/anon ww games are fun

I think a continuing discussion about gimmicks and ww is fine though. The ultimate problem though is going to be that there's not enough consensus to justify a rule different then the current one, i.e that it's up to game mods. I think a section in the sticky about when people have to disclose them and so on is a no brainer at the moment. I'm not sure about going further then that. But definitely I support game mods banning them if they like, and forum mod supported enforcement of those game mod decisions
