I've had this masochistic idea for a walrus rolling around in my noggin for a while. If it's going to happen, now is the time to do it.

It's a single category, so you might call it a mini-walrus. On the other hand there will be many songs for me to listen to.

I want you to send me one (1) music album. I will listen to all of them several times and rank them. I am considering also ranking what I think are the best and worst songs from each album. I will not pay anything to listen to anything, so it should be free to listen to or download.

Some guidelines:

Do not submit anything by ABBA, Alice Cooper, Blondie, Iron Maiden, or the Beatles. Desolation Boulevard, and Friends of Mr. Cairo are also out.
Do not submit any double (or larger) albums.
You may submit instrumental albums or albums with instrumental pieces.
You may submit "Best Of" albums, but be careful.
I generally do not care for Country or Rap/Hip-Hop or their derivatives.
I tend to like energetic music or music which carries my mind somewhere else.

I will be evaluating an album based on the strengths of the songs, as well as how the songs work together to provide a special experience.

Entries due by midnight, MDT, June 30. Reveal probably not until 2nd half of August.

I think that as long as you adhere to the given prohibitions, you should be fine. The list covers just about everything with which I have great familiarity.

Yeah, I know. I have faith that people will submit an album that means something to them, even if it isn't something that would be in my wheelhouse. I do want to hear music that I wouldn't search out for myself.
